Popular Tasting Notes
This tea was surprisingly delicious! I added to one of my favorites and out of the five samples, it was my favorite. Read the full review here: http://www.abbisiler.com/tea/ambrosia-plum-zhenas-gypsy-tea
Preparation
This tea might actually be growing on me. I’m almost near the bottom of the tin so that makes sense. I am actually starting to appreciate the floral qualities. It has a sweet floral aroma that I found offputting at first but kinda enjoy now. Probably still not a regular tea for me since I prefer stonger taste profiles. But, not as bad as I originally thought.
Preparation
Appearance: these pictures show the leaves dry and after initial infusion. The leaves are curled and maintained their shape better than the Sun Dried White. I think that’s to be expected because there is a little more processing (my guess is steaming). I found that I needed to use more leaves than other greens to get the strength I like. Liquor: light green, jade color almost. Smell: vegetal. Taste: vegetal but nicely sweet (sweeter than, for example, the Monkey King I recently reviewed). Consistent flavor as the liquor cooled. Good second infusion, weak third infusion. 8/10.
Tazo “Passion” is the color of a Bordeaux and has a floral aroma.
When sipping this tea, the tartness of the lemongrass is the first taste that hits the tongue, followed by the sweet cinnamon flavor. It’s a bit disconcerting, so I thought I would add some sugar or honey to round the flavor out. This turned the tea into something more like warm juice.
Preparation
Why do I like this tea? This sweet and spicy herbal concoction that smells like potpourri? Why do I go back to it, even though I know that it’s going to remind me of that basket of bark on the back of some old lady’s toilet? (Or perhaps an apple cinnamon candle?)
I truly don’t know. But I will probably keep drinking this tea intermittently, anyway.
