Popular Tasting Notes
Mmmmm… I’m a huge fan of dessert teas and this one does not disappoint. I was looking for something sweet after a nice dinner and pulled this out of my basket! When you first open the bag, you immediately smell vanilla and cake and can see a rainbow of spinkles. It immediately put a smile on my face! Even my husband, who isn’t a tea drinker, was rather taken by the smell.
Once it’s done steeping, it still smells very sweet and cake-like. Drinking it tastes like vanilla and frosting. I get a hint of cake… but I wouldn’t say it’s exactly like cake, but hey it will be an excellent substitute when I want something sweet in no time flat.
It’s also my first experience with rooibos and honeybush, and I’m very pleased with the taste. I can’t believe I put off trying it for so long.
Preparation
I’ve had this one a few times and its always been a bit too bitter for my tastes.
The first time I assumed I had brewed it too hot and too long so I dropped both the temp and time. While not as bad, its still too bitter for my liking.
I was hoping for a bit of a pick me up this morning. If this doesn’t improve as it continues to cool, I’ll just make a cup of Lady Gray instead.
Wish I wasn’t out of Caribe.
Preparation
Ok, I drank this yesterday, but I’ve been drinking this tea for years thanks to my grandmother. It doesn’t get bitter if you let it steep for too long, it’s scent is good, and the flavor is smooth. The 120 gram tin costs $2.25 at one of the Asian markets around here. That’s beyond cheap, especially for a not too bad tea.
My first rating on steepster! I’ve been lurking for a while now but I want to join this awesome community so I thought I better start reviewing!
Okay so this is one of my first teas from DAVIDsTEA and WOW. Its really really good. I’m not sure what the temperature of the water was since I only have a cheap electric kettle but I let it boil and then opened it for like 30 seconds to cool it a bit. Anyways I didn’t taste any bitterness from the black tea, very smooth, a tad buttery and a lot of coconut. I’m not an alcohol drinker so I guess I don’t know what real rum tastes like but this reminds me of what “Butter Beer” from Harry Potter would taste like. I agree with another reviewer who said it would be perfect for a snowy cold day. I had the first cup plain, but I will have to try sugar/milk to make it creamier.
Preparation
Honestly, I didn’t know how I would like the flavor of a Oolong Milk tea. As soon as I poured the hot water over the leaves my sense of smell came alive. It had a wonderful scent of creamy fruit that I just loved. Yes, I would love to have this tea again. Thank you so much Teavivre!!!
