Popular Tasting Notes

I figured a warm cup of tea would go nicely with the light rain this afternoon and I wasn’t disappointed! This is a nice vanilla rooibus.

Although I’ve had great Golden Monkey Tea from other websites Blue Lantern’s is an exceptional tea. Great fragrance and almost cocoay flavor and full bodied taste. Not to mention, Blue Lantern sends me free samples every time I order and they are very personable. Something I appreciate very much; great customer service. Even though I order and try teas from other websites/stores Blue Lantern has become my primary source for good tea.

Maybe I should try it as an iced tea, but hot it was just bland and uninspired. It’s not terrible, but neither would I reach for it over the many other green teas in my cupboard.

This one is pretty unexciting. The rooibus is also so small that it tends to make its way through the strainer. This makes me very, very unexcited by this tea. It is I will be quite pleased when it’s gone!

Tried this at Teavana store. Delicious. Following the directives re: temp and steep time, got the same fabulous flavor at home. Drinking this one now. :) Love, love, love!

Although it has caffeine, I find it very relaxing.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING TEA!!! I usually don’t love green tea but decided to have some at a restaurant. I was SO GOOD I bought it online WHILE I was there! Totally worth the money. Will continue to buy this one!

This has become my daily beverage of choice (not that I’ve given up coffee). The most important thing about yerba mate that I’ve discovered to keep it from getting bitter is something I saw in a snippet on another site – soak it in a little bit of cold water before brewing, just enough to get the leaves good and wet. I forgot to do this one time and it makes a HUGE difference in the flavor.

The way I have it:
2 Tbs yerba mate
1 Tbs dark chocolate chunks, broken up
2 tsp Oolong tea
1/4 tsp peppercorns
1/4 tsp whole cloves
a dash of nutmeg & cinnamon
Brew with 2.5 cups of water in an automatic drip coffee pot, add sugar and a dash of cream. I love it hot or iced!

Too sweet. Not for me.

after watching the leaves dance in my cup, I took my first sip to discover a slightly vegetal taste at first, followed by a buttery flavor. as I await the second Infusion, the aroma of the tea lingers in the air.
