So I tried to think what would go well with frozen berries in a smoothie and lemon came to mind so I grabbed this tea. However, I was thinking adding my usual pudding might be a bit much so I attempted to play with the recipe and sub yogurt for pudding which meant I needed to replace the milk (or use both my milk servings at once, which I don’t like doing). So I decided I would use more tea to get the liquids and absentmindedly used like 10 tsps of tea and 8 oz water. Then realized it would be too hot so I stuck some water in the blender and waited for the tea to brew and poured about 1/2-2/3s of what I made into the blender.
Well, needless to say, this was a disaster. The lemon picked up the tartness of everything so for what is usually a sweet tea, this is a very tart smoothie. The consistency is all off as well. At times I get lemon while other times I get strawberries that aren’t quite ripe yet. Add to that the coating feeling I am getting from the Greek yogurt and you got a disaster in a cup. Add to that the chiffon element popping up at times, which is just so out of place and you really got a shitty smoothie.
This is a very subtle cold brew yet flavorful at the same time. It actually captures dragonfruit, which is a subtle flavor to being with which explains the lightness of this tea and yet there is a richness here that is keeping things interesting. Sweet and delicious and true to the fruit. With that said, I am enjoying this but I could see people wanting more!
I made this because studying was terrible and I just wanted something I know I love. This definitely fit the bill and despite its age (Oct 2014), it did not disappoint. Now, despite having 5 exams to study for this week and the pouring rain outside, I think I will go pokehunting because I need something else to push me through the slog that is cramming for exams about laws (not law school exams though cuz I am not that fancy…yet :P)
So I don’t think I know what 1/2 the ingredients are in this tea but what I do know is it tastes like oolong and not much else. I suppose that is okay for some but I am just not a lover of oolong so I am thinking this is probably not for me. Still, it is always fun to try new things so thank you Sil for the opportunity!
Now back to studying…kill me now :(
Made this as a smoothie and it was rich. Very, very rich. The chocolate pudding and berry mix were highlighted by this tea so the entire thing was a chocolate blueberry flavor punch to the face. Depends how you feel about the flavor combination. For me, I am on the fence about it so I need to be in the mood to enjoy it. Today, though I can appreciate this, I would have preferred more banana or some other fruit (although that is a reflection on me, not the tea).
LOL, I can set this aside as well for you to try! I am going to try one cup plain to see if it is still as flavorful but the rest can be yours.
Sipdown
The leaf for this has little graham cracker crumb marshmallows and you can taste them. This is definitely a good s’mores tea, up there with the likes of the Della Terra one, if not better. The base is mild but thick enough to support the heavy flavors of S’mores. The chocolate is smooth and milky which compliments the marshmallow sweetness beautifully. The graham also pops up making for the complete package. Delicious!

Preparation
I tried making this as a smoothie since I figured the cinnamon blueberry of the tea would compliment the chocolate blueberry of the other smoothie ingredients. Alas, this didn’t so much compliment as it did cover up everything else. It meant I tasted nothing but the sorta wet-dog flavor I sometimes get from this tea. Luckily, just one more cup to go since I am over this tea and cant wait to say goodbye.
I made a cold brew of this and I took it to go see my sister for her wedding dress fitting. Apparently she was thirsty because she took the bottle from my hand, which is rare since she doesnt love tea all that much. However, she must have liked this one seeing as she drank half the bottle before we were even taken in for her appointment. I can see why she liked it so much. Sweet, candy-like strawberry melon – it reminds me of laffy taffy, which I was obsessed with for a while – and just a hint of floral to keep things interest. Plus, the end of a sip has the slightest tartness to it which rounds out the flavor so wonderfully. I really am a fan of this one.
i don’t open ppl’s tea and steal tea! (i also totally forgot to ask you to do that to be honest…) that would be great!
Disaster in a cup, heh. :)
Hope the rest of your day goes far more smoothly.
I have no idea what you actually did, but it was funny none the less.
