6444 Tasting Notes
The milk did it again and made this taste like cardboard. I guess the coconut is just too subtle as milk always seems to drown it out. The chocolate remains though so this is like chocolate cardboard which is…disgusting.
I decided to try something new and poured this over milk however after tasting it, I really wish I hadn’t. The banana flavor is still present but rather than mixing with sweet coconut notes, the milk has highlighted the base which is making this taste like banana cardboard. Blech! This got dumped. Sorry tasty tea :(
MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmm sweet lemon vanilla goodness. This really is amazing and I will be sad when it is gone. Luckily I still have the pack of this I grabbed in my most recent Butiki order (well the order prior to he one I made today) because this cup marked the last of my original sample.
Thank you Roswell Strange for sharing this tea. I made this last night in my carry mug and as I sip, I am happy it is still warm but I am finding this to be quite bland. It is slightly orangey and has a hint of nut but any flavor there was may have been drowned out by its long stay in the thermos. Luckily my tea twin shared enough that I will be able to try this again.
I made this last night but didn’t get around to drinking it this evening. It is cold but still super relaxing and comforting which I definitely need after my day. Essentially I went to get allergy tested and the allergy doctor came to the conclusion that it is probably not an allergy that I have so instead she sent me to get blood work done. Well, the thought of that was bad enough because I have an extreme fear of needles so it only made my day that much worse when I got the technician from hell. Seriously. The woman kept jamming the needle into my arms and then when she missed my veins, she just kept wiggling the needle, fishing around in my arm until she found one. And she took 14 tubes of blood so that was a lot of jamming and fishing and pain. I literally lied on the table and cried, which says a lot because I am not someone who ever cries. So that made for a pretty unpleasant day and now I have the bruises to remind me about it. Luckily, I also have this cup of roasty-toasty deliciousness to distract me. Well that and the awesome meal my mom took me for in order to make me feel better: http://instagram.com/p/u8-IEePJSo/
Yikes. That sounds awful. Get her name and file a complaint. Because treatment like that sounds like she was utterly incompetent at her job. Not to mention that once they’re able to take one tube of blood, they should just keep swapping it out for empty tubes. There shouldn’t be any continued jamming and wiggling. Ugh. Just typing that makes me shudder. I probly would’ve smacked her and/or demanded someone who knew what they were doing.
Sil, I thought about that one but went with the nutella and peanut butter one instead.
And Shadowfall, when we walked in she was the receptionist. My mom joked that she just got bored and decided to try something new and honestly given the way she drew blood, I would believe it. And she did switch out the tubes once she got one going but there was so much poking and prodding until she got to that point. And then my vein collapsed after 10 tubes so more pricking happened until she got a vein to do the last four tubes. And the icing on top of the cake? When she pulled the needle out, she didn’t apply pressure so I just started bleeding everywhere and it had to get wiped up.
So the first time I tried this, it tasted disgustingly like butter. Today, as I have it over milk, I am finding this more drinkable for sure. Creamy mint though with the element of coconut it is bordering on being a touch lotiony. The apple adds a great deal of sweetness. It is alright but not something I personally would keep stocked. I can see why others would like it though.
I overleafed this cup so my first few sips were rather astringent. However, now that it has cooled a little, the astringency has subsided leaving behind a malty yet fruity tea. It’s really quite nice. Thank you Sil for the share. It will be interesting to see how this compares to the other Norbu teas you have me samples of. 169.
I’m drinking this one poured over milk and it actually is quite nice. The vanilla is definitely the strongest element though the chai spices and present yet balanced in the cup. Unfortunately, the aftertaste is a whole lotta licorice and for that reason I won’t be getting anymore after my 10g sample is done. Still, it’s not bad.
Nope. This is one big cup of nope. It is a weird blend of chili, licorice, plum, and rose hips. This got dumped.
Hmm… they let you buy 8g, right? Maybe I won’t even get any… I didn’t end up purchasing any Snickerdoodle (although I did try it in-store).
