drank Orange Blossom by DAVIDsTEA

Normally I am not a fan of citrus teas but iced and cold brewed, this tastes like an orange creamsicle and that is pretty great.

Roswell Strange

Damn; I considered picking some of this up today but then changed my mind…

VariaTEA

Oh no. The only reason I ever tried it was because I was out with a friend and she got it iced and I took a sip and really enjoyed it.

VariaTEA

Now that I know it cold brews really well too, I think I will stock it and I can always send you some when I do :)

Plunkybug

I still like this one hot better.

VariaTEA

Haven’t tried it hot yet and I just dumped the rest of the leaf into a bottle to cold brew for later.

Caramel? Check. Cream? Check. Rooibos? Check. All there and all pleasant but not really anything special. Still, I enjoyed it while it lasted and I certainly would not turn away another cup. Thank you Nattie for the chance to try it!!

drank Buttermilk Lemon by TeaGschwendner

Usually I am not a lover of citrus teas but everyone has spoken so highly of this tea that it piqued my interest. Luckily, the wonderful NayLynn saw it on my wishlist and sent me a small samples so I could give it a try and I am so glad she did because it is delicious!

The black base provides a fullness while not being overwhelming in flavor. The lemon is present and refreshing but not in-your-face. Also, it is lemony like the fruit as opposed to bitter and tasting of rind. Also, the almonds give this almost a cookie-like quality while the marigold provides a hint of vanilla-caramel sweetness. And, without any milk, this is just a touch creamy. A really, really good tea that I would be happy to have again. Back onto the wishlist it goes and thank you NayLynn for the chance to try it out :).

Made this as a latte with skim milk and realistically this tastes no difference (though I am blaming the milk :P). So, if I had more, I would probably drink it plain since it is delicious that way and really doesn’t need anymore. Thank you Fjellrev (wherever you may have gone) for sharing this deliciousness with me!!

drank Lychee by Lupicia

Thank you Kat_Maria for being an awesome supplier of tasty, tasty Lupicia teas. Between you, Dustin, and jump62359, I have been able to explore so many teas from such an amazing company and I am really grateful to you all.

As for this tea, it is lychee, it is black tea, and really it is nothing special. The lychee flavor is present but sort of muted due to the strong presence of the base. I think if given the choice, I would prefer stocking Te De Frutas which has a nice lychee flavors as well as other fruity tastes to make the tea more complex and exciting (plus it is decaffeinated which is always good). Nonetheless, I am always happy to try something new and I really appreciate the chance to do so so thank you once again to Kat_Maria for the opportunity.

Sipdown!! (176, because I found some teas that I forgot to remove from my cupboard so YAY!)

This is actually a very nice tea. The vanilla flavor is amazing and sweet and delicious while the pomegranate is more subtle but still great. Honestly, if you have not already checked out Design a Tea I recommend you do so as their flavors have all been great and you can create 5 samples for free (though you have to pay shipping): http://www.designatea.com/freesamples.php.

This to me is not Butterbeer. That doesn’t mean it is bad but it definitely is not the tasty deliciousness that is Butterbeer either. Instead, this tastes like an almond cookie to me. I don’t know why as there is no nuts in this but that is what I am getting. It is a little buttery, a little nutty, and not all that sweet, hence the almond cookie. Not bad but definitely not what I was hoping for either. Oh well, c’est la vie. Nonetheless, I want to thank the awesome Nattie for the opportunity to try this out.

So I cold brewed this which left only 1 tsp left. I was hesitant to make this hot since it has hibiscus which tends to take over in hot cups but I am happy to report that both the hot and cold brew taste very similar. The cold might lean a little more to the sweet berries where as the hot is a touch more tart but ultimately both are nicely balanced and super tasty. I would actually think about stocking this fruit blend given it generates a nice cup every time. Thank you Roswell Strange for the generous sample you sent me to enjoy, especially as this is one I would not have picked up on my own.

Oh and in other news, I am starting to think that I am more accepting of the hibby tartness so maybe I should stop ignoring all fruit blends that have it…

Oh Elixir of Life, you are a nutty, nutty tea. No strawberry or vanilla in this cup. Strange but not bad. Not something I would stock but I am glad I got a chance to try it. Thank you Nattie for the opportunity.

drank Cantaloupe Watermelon by 52teas

Sipdown!! (182)

This really is a nice take on a melon white tea as both the watermelon and cantaloupe can be tasted on their own while simultaneously blending perfectly in the cup. However, at the end of the day I don’t reach for whites very often and when I do I have a bag of Cantaloupe & Cream so I won’t be stocking this anytime soon. I am grateful to NayLynn for the chance to try it though!

My cupboard has grown exponentially since joining this site and I have a lot to share. Feel free to snoop through my cupboard and message me if anything interests you – I am always happy to swap!

For me, flavored teas are definitely my sweet spot. I will most often reach for black teas and rooibos or honeybush blends but I do keep some flavored whites and greens around for when the mood strikes. I have a few herbals/tisanes but most of the time I find myself disappointed by them as they often smell deliciously sweet and then end up tasting tart/sour. I have a little bit of an aversion to pu’erh and oolong teas. I am also wary of florals, earl greys, and chai teas. I do not like overpowering citrus flavors nor do I usually like hibiscus, licorice or chamomile. I love dessert teas – caramel, vanilla, toffee, cookie, cream, and other sweet flavors make me smile. Fruits like strawberry, peach, mango, and pineapples will often catch my attention as well.

I have also realized that although I really enjoy adding frothed milk to some of my teas, if I do not like the tea with zero additives (just in plain water without milk or sugar), I probably won’t drink it. The one exception is flavored matchas which I will happily drink in cold milk if I do not like it mixed with hot water. My theory is if the tea can’t stand on its own then it is not for me and I will more than likely try to swap it out for something else.

50-59 Teas I can see why someone would enjoy but are not for me
Under 50 Teas I really did not like and most likely got dumped
