New Tasting Notes
It’s been so long since I had this; I had to bring it into work today to have some! I always think, “ew, that’s the smokey blend” and my taste buds shrink up a little bit in anticipation, but then my brain calms them down by reminding them that it’s okay, the smokiness just adds to the awesomeness of the blend, so don’t be afraid!
True enough, this is such a great morning tea with a smokey note that doesn’t overpower the rest of the blend. I really enjoy this one!
When I opened the package, I was blasted with a tropical wave of fruitiness. It was amazing and promising and it delivered.
When brewed, I could still smell the tropical fruit scent of pineapple. (So happy! Most of the time, it disappears once steeped.) 165/2 min using the Breville. It tastes like a nice fruity green. The Chinese sencha is strong enough to maintain its flavor in the tea, and the tropical fruit flavor does not overpower it in any way.
This is a really nice tea for any time of the day. My only complaint is that when I went back to the website to find it, it was no longer listed.
Preparation
Thanks, JoeCool (Nichole) for sharing! This is a delicate, delicious tea. It didn’t smell like much in the bag, nor as it brewed, but it packs a tasty punch for your taste palate. I taste sweet melon and a hint of jasmine. This is a great find, but I honestly don’t know if I would go out of my way to purchase it. Overall, a delight but not a must for me.
3rd cup (2nd Re-steep). Boiling water and 4 minutes again. Its definetly a pale shadow of the first steep, but quite drinkable. I’d say the two resteeps were better than the orginal steep, which makes me think that the first steep was overdone. I also probably got more actual tea in the strainer because the granular format makes for a lot less wasted space in my teaspoon measure.
So, if you’re going for plain tea (no milk & sugar) treat the granulated a little lightly…lesson learned.
Preparation
Oh, my precious. I am having a delicious raspberry/blackberry forward mug of this right now. I never want this pouch to end. THis rises to the top of my fruit teas AND my rooibos – A sure winner all around. I’m still hoping that this is one of my oops teas…hopefully that package arrives soon and I can find out! Wonderfully berry flavoured, very authentic and natural as opposed to sweetened fruit flavours. I love it! I really do!
This is very british, but in a very delicate way. It is much lighter and delicate than most breakfast mixes. The official blurb compares its taste to roasted chestnuts – I would never have gotten there myself, but now I read it, it is a very good comparison. I had some teabags from a mixed Twinings box and this is the last, I am going to look for it, bagged (I am heretical, I do not mind that much, depending of course on age and circumstances) or loose.
I usually do not put sugar or milk (or anything dairy) on tea, but this is absolutely delicious with milk.
Preparation
Gave this a try today at Harney SoHo. The first thing you notice when you take a sip are the cocoa notes. They are nice and bold, but not overpowering at all. It was a nice jump for the taste buds. It wasn’t as sweet as I was hoping it to be, which is certainly not a bad thing. This is going on my shopping list for sure.
Backlogging…review coming soon…
Of all the single steeps I got with my Kati cup, I like this one best. That may not be saying much considering what I think of the other blends, but I do like this one. It smells more lemony than it tastes, but I like the hint of sweetness to the blend. The taste as it cools becomes more gingery and peppery, with an underlying grassiness. Overall I wish this one was a bit more lemony, and if anything it’s made this combo something I might look for now that I’m out of ginger tea.
Preparation
I was unable to locate this one their website yesterday – I’m backlogging – but wanted to say this is a remarkable black tea! Really lovely! It’s strong but not astringent and there is a smooth finish on it but it never strays from being a great black tea…no fuss! YUM!
Backlogging from yesterday as I was having steepster issues (seemed it was much slower than usual and I was having problems with my dashboard). Anyhow…this was really wonderful! It’s everything in a Golden Yunnan – Black that I was looking for – the semi-chewy flavor and the leaf style with the ‘needles’ and color was really neat! The aftertaste was almost reminiscent of sweet potato.
Resteep – 4 minutes with boiling water. A repeat of the first steep. Brewed as dark as the first cup, but did not come out as harsh. A bit watered down as expected. I believe the resteep was actually better than the 1st; making me think that the first was over done.
Preparation
I oversteeped – I almost never do that! But even with two minutes over my steep time this tea is delicious. Vanilla Black does not taste like a caffeinated version of Vanilla Comoro. I find it a little more flavorful than Mariage Freres’ vanilla tea.
Preparation
This one really made me think before typing a review here. It’s REALLY good but what I like best is the lavender (and I am not usually ‘all about’ lavender). It’s a creamier lavender and not that overly floral/fragrant astringency that intensely floral teas sometimes give you…you know what I mean? The EG flavoring is nice but not the highlight of this tea…the creamy lavender is! It’s really great tasting! YUM!
Thanks LinerTEAs!
