#ProjectTeaWall
This was one of the two teas I ended up making myself last night on shift; I’d have loved to do more but honestly I was on the drink station last night making all the ‘To Go’ cups for people and I was genuinely having such a fun time doing it that I distracted myself from making more tea for myself…
Seriously; getting paid to make tea for people is just the best.
And even though I wasn’t working the Tea Wall last night I still ended up making several recommendations for teas to both customers and coworkers; and every time they ended up going with the tea I chose for them. Which is just the best feeling. Mao Jian Jade iced for my coworker who wanted a green tea that would be refreshing and not seaweed-y, Midsummer Night’s Dream for the customer who had never tried a tea other than peppermint and wanted something familiar but that would push her out of her comfort zone, iced Cherry Blossom for one of my seasonal coworkers who likes really light, fruity teas and had never had a white tea before, and iced Magic Dragon for a girl looking for something fruity and caffeine free that wouldn’t need any sort of sweetener.
I chose this one for myself because it’s a tea I’ve tried from several other companies but not from DAVIDsTEA – I wanted to continue to check things off my list, but didn’t want something I’d have to pay too much attention to on shift because I knew I’d also be busy doing other things.
Anyone who’s ever had an Irish Breakfast blend before and liked it is gonna like this one; it’s 100% your traditional, very malty Irish Breakfast. Would take milk and sugar/honey very well if you wanted to go that route. I found that as it cooled down it did take on a little bit more astringency; but it never got to the point where it was unpleasant. I also liked the subtle honey sweetness in the finish. No surprises with this one.
Friendly reminder that I’m not currently numerically rating DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m seasonally employed by the company and it would be an obvious conflict of interest.
This kinda makes me want to work at DT for a while, lol
