So, when the matcha collection came out DT released a few different matcha inspired recipes on their blog and for the first time in a while I had everything I needed already at home to make one of them! What did I make? Ceremonial Matcha, Avacado and Coconut Milk Popsicles!
Now, even though I techinically had everything in the recipe anyway I did make some substitutions to make this one a little more my own. Since I have an excess of Ceremonial Matcha lying around the house I used that instead of Kale, and I doubled the amount used because I really wanted a strong presence of it. As well, instead of sweetening this with agave I decided to use Matcha Honey because I like honey more than agave, and it would continue to up the ratio of matcha goodness in the recipe.
Here’s the OG recipe though: http://blog.davidstea.com/en/kale-matcha-avocado-popsicles/
Honestly this was SUPER easy/quick to make and a good early morning snack/breakfast type alternative for my bus rides to work. I mean, it would be even better if it was consistently warm outside but there’s not much I can do about that side of things. The flavour’s good though; very strongly avacado and grassy/oceanic matcha with creaminess from the coconut milk and just enough underlying sweetness to still make this feel like a treat. Personally, I don’t own a blender so I blended all of this by hand and so I definitely had lumps of avacado in my “batter”/mix when made this a bit thicker/slimy but it still worked overall for me.
I’d recommend giving it a shot of green smoothies/avacado are kind of your jam.
Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts regarding the teas, and not the company’s.
