Thanks for the sample Tea Ave! All three samples made great accompaniments for my Series of Unfortunate Events binge on the 13th when it came out.

So I was at my mom’s the other night for supper and she mentioned that she’d brought home some of her teas from work and I should check and see if any of them were ones I wanted to try/hadn’t tried. None of them were new to me, but there were a whole bunch of older seasonal blends I hadn’t tried in a long time.
So I finished off the last of her Mulled Wine with some added in Grand Marnier because a tea named Mulled Wine deserves to be at least a little bit boozey. This tastes like cloves, sweet boozey oranges, and bubblegum. Pretty just like I remember it tasting. The revisit was nice.

Very floral and lavender-y with strong, brisk bergamot notes and then undertones of both the plum (semi-sweet) and clove. I still think that the flavour notes of this tea are a little cacophonous but it’s growing on me slowly but surely.
Slowly is the key word, though.

Drank this one for the first time since it was re-released in the Feel Good Collection. Out of last year’s teas, this one was my favourite and I even bought 50g and finished all of that. At the end of that 50g I was pretty sure that I wouldn’t be buying it again though. I liked it, a lot, but was just rather sick of it…
But… The fruity notes in this one are so enjoyable, and it fills what I feel like is a bit of a hole in my rooibos selection at the moment. So maybe. I’m undecided at the moment.
Though I will say, you have to under leaf this one! It too sweet and the stevia is too noticeable with normal leaf amounts.
Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. This tea is so popular, like so, so popular. It kind of baffles me a little bit honestly. Like it’s good, but it’s not “250g” good and I feel like I’ve sold large quantities like that of this tea more than any other tea except, arguably, Earl Grey.
So because it’s so popular I’m making more of a conscious effort to try it a few different ways. I want to be able to talk confidently about it if people are going to be ordering it so much. Thus… latte!
- Makes a nice latte all in all
- Cinnamon is totally the star, but I felt like I tasted the clove more with this method too
- Also the base came off a bit clearer/more recognizably woody
This review is for the Moroccan Mint infused White Chocolate bar…
This one was kind of weird, if I’m being honest. The big issue was kind of just how strong/intense the mint was. Like, it comes through really strongly and clearly. All in all it’s quite refreshing with a nice creamyness from the chocolate but also a little jarring too? By the time I felt like I had really settled into the flavour I was on my last piece from the bar, so it did take a while. Also, much more spearmint than peppermint too so it wasn’t even like a traditional “mint chocolate” sort of combo.
Not sure if I’d recommend, honestly.

This review is for the Chai & Mighty infused Dark Chocolate bar…
So, I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this one as a chocolate since I don’t like Chai very much but all in all I think this is one of the best tea infused chocolates that we’ve made in a long, long while. The dark chocolate is lovely, there’s some needed sweetness from the vanilla, and the spices are rich and well balanced. Plus, no astringency which can often be an issue for me when I’m drinking heavily spiced teas.

Revisiting this one because it had been a while…
Overall, I still think this is a little too rich/sweet but I like the toasted coconut notes in it a lot and I always forget that it has pecan in it so when I got the sweet pecan notes from my first sips it was a really nice, pleasant surprise. So all in all not an awful cup.

This was one of those beautiful cases where cashew milk and the nuttyness from it made the tea like ten times better! It complimented the starchy potato pancake aspect of the tea and brought it well into the forefront. The apple was a soft, sweet background note that kept this from being too completely savory.

Yes, I am only just now getting around to trying DAVIDsTEA’s Earl Grey. So sue me.
Had this as a latte and it was…
Basically normal Earl Grey in latte form. Ooh! Aaah! Isn’t everyone shocked and amazed? Probably not. Personally I prefer Cream of Earl Grey but this wasn’t bad, and is a suitable option too.
