256 Tasting Notes
I am really using allll my will power to not order the Queen Charlotte set….I loved the show. Just wish I could get the tins but filled with loose leaf tea instead. Anyway, this will probably be my last Republic of Tea review for awhile unless I get that set. I wasn’t a fan of this. Idk why…it just didn’t taste like I imagined it. Also I just drank the last of it and no particular flavor stands out enough for me to add to this review :/
Bought the loose leaf version. Its a nice pleasant earl grey. Broken larger tea leaves which I always think tastes better than the smaller pieces. Its a little
Pricier though, especially with shipping so might not get it again.
I love this tea! I love Jasmine tea but usually it only comes in Green tea (I’ve seen it in White too). My favorite tea is black though. Love it, love it, love it! The perfect floral notes to it. Smooth and goes down nicely with just a touch of sugar, Nice hot or cold. Too bad it’s a limited one and they don’t have this one in stock all the time.
I have a little (ancient) bit of Pumphrey’s Blend from Peet’s Tea and Coffee—now discontinued. It was also a really nice green/black blend with a little jasmine.
Back to the fruity herbal tea since I found a bunch on sale. This one is supposed to be Hawaii. Not really a mango flavor, just generic fruity. Kinda forgettable.
Mango is a difficult flavoring — it usually tastes like generic fruity orange-apricot to me. If you’re looking for something caffeinated and can access it in your country, Lupicia’s mango flavored teas receive high praise around here.
What I love most about this one is it won’t keep me up at night yet still is strong. I find it can be hard to get the perfect cup right- its easy to steep too long or not long enough or use a little too much or too little. Its not the best black tea but its ok.
