This is a pretty yummy green tea. I like that I can taste the sweet grassyness from the green tea, but then taste the pineapple and mango as well. A bit of the papaya shows through as well. This is wonderful over ice!

This sounds really good!

This is an ok jasmine tea, it’s very light on the jasmine flavoring but overall it’s a nice tea and probably a great tea if you prefer a lighter jasmine taste.

This is a pretty strong, full bodied Earl Grey. The bergamot is very pleasing to my palate, fairly strong but not overwhelming. Overall this is a pretty darn good Earl Grey!

Mehhh, so I must say I don’t think I have ever had chrysanthemum in anything before, but I don’t believe I am a fan of them. Nothing was very special about this tea to me, it has a slight honeyish taste to it which I guess is from the chrysanthemum flowers? Hm, not sure how I feel about this one… I’m indifferent on it.

drank Pu-erh Chai by Golden Moon Tea

Ehh, this one is okay but nothing to write home about. I am already picky on my chai blends to start with since there are so many different variations out there and this one is mainly just cinnamon… a lot of cinnamon. The pu-erh wasn’t as nice and earthy as Golden Moons original Pu-erh, this reminds me more of fall leaves. Also due to all of the cinnamon this is a bit bitter from it and I can pick up on a light citrus note which I think is a bit weird in a chai, but to each their own! …This is just “ehh”, wouldn’t recommend anyone to go out and purchase this one.

UPDATE – after drinking this more as it cools the more I feel like I am gnawing on a cinnamon stick. Added some milk and honey and now it really reminds me of a cinnamon stick!

Yum, yum, yum! More please! A nice smooth earthy Pu-erh with a hint of honey to it, very good iced as well as hot.

Curious as to what the difference between “Pu-erh” and Pu-erh is? lol:)

WOW! I’m speechless on this tea! This is my very first Pu-erh experience and honestly I have been intentionally avoiding this tea for some time now… something about being “aged in a cave” and the word “fermented” had me pretty freaked out. Anyways, the aroma of this tea is intoxicating, I’ve smelled this smell somewhere before but for the life of me I can not place it nor can I describe it. It is pungent, musky, strong and… I LOVE IT! This may sound very odd, but it tastes like a very good piece of earthy tree bark with some really rich soil covering it… not that I know what that tastes like, but it is what I think of while I am sipping on this treasure. Hmmm I think I need to take a moment and zen out while I finish my cup! I’m going to place an order for this right after I get done zenning out with my new treasure :-D

I am still new to the world of oolongs, but they are fast becomming my new fave! This is a very woodsy/musky tasting tea (but in a good way!) and I can taste the cedar notes, which I just love. The date flavor hits the very back of my tongue to make itself known and then if I really concentrate I can pick up an ever so slight floral finish. This will be put on my “must buy list”, I wish I had more than just the sample that came in Golden Moons sampler pack since I now want to make a whole pot!

drank Jasmine Pearl by Rishi Tea

I received these from Meghann M and they are fantastic! And best of all I noticed that they are sold at a nearby grocery store, so when I run out I can easily run and get a new tin… this makes me VERY happy! These are smooth with a nice strong jasmine taste, subperb!

Cameron B.

It’s strange, the prepackaged version at my local high-end grocery store is FAR cheaper. I got three ounces for $12, while on Rishi’s website this tea is listed at $12 per ounce. This leads me to wonder whether the quality is the same! Maybe I’ll have to order an ounce online when I finish what I have.

Chai? Where!? This tastes the red hot candies, or perhaps one of those atomic fire balls (minus the burning sensation on your tongue). This tastes like a sweet cinnamon candy had been dropped in a pot of hot water and then that is your “tea”. It wasn’t bad per se if you like that kind of thing, but it wasn’t good in my book.

I must say I kind of liked this when I sampled it at Teavana. I thought, “Oh, hey, I don’t normally like chai without milk and sugar.” But then I saw that it was “lightly sweetened.” I think sugar is their secret ingredient for selling teas. :) Now that you mention it, it was a bit like a red hot – though I liked a sip of it, I probably wouldn’t enjoy a full cup.

Profile

Bio

I am a tea enthusiast who is always looking to try a new tea, but my all time favorite is jasmine pearls…or anything with jasmine in it really. I also am a sushi fanatic and simply can’t live without it. Outside of my fanatasy world of all things tea and sushi I am an executive assistant, mother of 2 and personal taxi/maid and chef service for my little family.

But back to the tea!

I love Jasmine Pearls, just about any White Tea and then we have Pu-erh coming in last as my top three.

However, I still enjoy a good Earl Grey tea, the more bergamot the better! I have a fond place in my heart for Matcha, especially iced Matcha Lattes. Flavored green teas are always fun, but I tend to stay away from the overly grassy tasting ones… they always remind me of a wheatgrass shot!

It takes a special black tea to really win me over, for me I find that they all taste too much alike or tend to be too bitter at times; I think I am more so bored with them.

Oolongs are fairly new to me and I am finding that these are really good and they will probably end up making it as one of my top contenders!

Pu-erh I have yet to try; I am very curious, but a bit scared to try it… something about being aged in a cave just frightens me a bit, but I would like to try one in the very near future :-) Update – I have tried a few pu-erhs and I can’t get enough of them! While they are definitely an acquired taste they are lovely! This has now taken over rooibos in my top 3 teas of choice!
