I’ve been curious about this one for awhile now, despite the fact that it’s entirely made up of things I don’t care for. I’m just not a fan of lemon or rooibos, although honeybush is growing on me. I know you’re wondering, so why did I go and buy this if you don’t like anything in it? It’s because so far I haven’t had a miss with Della Terra and the reviews for this tea were just so good that I had to try it myself.
This will never be my favorite tea, but it’s really good. I was surprised by how much I ended up enjoying it. It reminds me a bit of the lemon cream sandwich cookies I sold when I was in girl scouts [about 20+ years ago]. I’m pretty sure they don’t make those cookies anymore and haven’t in years (the new Lemonades just aren’t the same cookie).
One thing this really has going for it is that on the first steep I can’t taste the rooibos. It actually was the dominate flavor on my second steep. I love that I can taste the cream first and the lemon second and that the tea ends up being more sweet than tart. The fact that the lemon and rooibos didn’t dominate in this tea is what made it a winner for me.
I’m looking forward to trying this iced next, but that will have to wait until I get a new tea pitcher since mine cracked.
Looking forward to the iced review…am looking at getting this one soon…
