Ok, I’ll admit it, I bought this tea just because of the cow sprinkles and I don’t even like sprinkles in my tea. I thought this tea would make a good conversation piece, I mean it has COW SPRINKLES. Crazy.

I’m really glad Della Terra made a rooibos version of this since I don’t drink much black tea. I also think the rooibos goes a long way in hiding the taste of the chocolate flavoring they use since I don’t care for it.

The dry leaf of this tea smells like a peppermint patty, but it doesn’t quite taste like one (it would be really awesome if it did.) The rooibos doesn’t come through very much, I only taste it a little bit at the end of each sip. The mint is what comes through the most, but I only get a hint of chocolate and a bit of creaminess from the vanilla bits and I wish they had stood out a little more.

Personal Rant I do wish companies would be more descriptive in their ingredient lists when it comes to using mint. I could avoid teas that use spearmint a lot easier if they wouldn’t just use mint catchall phrase.

Oh oh oh! I just ordered my first dellaterra sampler pack, and this was one of the teas I chose (well, the black version, as I’m a fan of black tea). I’m still on the hunt for a vanilla-mint tea that I might like, so here’s to hoping!

I’m with you on the mint labeling thing – I also like peppermint but really can’t stand spearmint.

keychange, if you are interested in vanilla mint teas and haven’t tried Butiki’s Killer Vanilla yet, you might like it.

I love the name – but what are ‘cow sprinkles’?

I do agree about the mint labeling thing. Seldom do I think spearmint belongs in anything. Same with some other ingredients. List them! Every time I am surprised by nuts, I think of people with allergies to them.

I am always interested in swapping so if you see anything in my cupboard that you want to try just send me a message. Please keep in mind that I order most of my teas in sample sizes and may not have a lot to swap. I’m also trying to keep my swaps limited to one a month so I don’t break the bank.

My favorite tea companies to order from are American Tea Room, Rishi, TeaVivre, and Single Origin Teas, however I am constantly lured away from my favorites by a good sale.

Ingredients I love in tea
rose, peach, oolong, osmanthus, vanilla, marshmallow root and peppermint

Ingredients I dislike in tea:
spearmint, chocolate, orange, hibiscus, sage and for the most part lemon.

I am a firm believer that sage only belongs in my thanksgiving stuffing/dressing and absolutely not in my tea.

Allergies
Cinnamon, Chocolate, Burdock Root, and Goji Berries

Teawares:
FORLIFE Curve Teapot, 24oz
Adagio ingenuiTEA, 16oz
Adagio Iced ingenuiTEA, 32oz
Zojirushi Water Pot, 4L
Libbey Country Fair drinking jars for ice tea
TeaVivre Travel Gaiwan

Rating Guidelines:

100 – 90: Pantry essential and some of my all time favorites that I can’t live without.

89 – 80: You’ll have a pretty good chance of finding this is my pantry on a regular basis, but it isn’t the end of the world if I run out.

79 – 70: I might consider restocking this at some point if the price was right.

69 – 40: Not undrinkable, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it again.

39 – 20: What in the world were they thinking? Probably still finished this just because I hate to waste anything.

19 – 0: Wow, that’s so terrible chances are pretty good I dumped it out and gave away the rest.

My current top five favorite teas:

China Black – Rishi Tea
Earl Grey Cream – Zen Tea
Lemoncello – American Tea Room
Nonpareil Anxi Qing Xiang TieGuanYin Oolong – TeaVivre
White Tea Rose Mélange – Rishi Tea
