I’ve been on the hunt for a pear tea. This smelled divine when I opened the pouch. The taste, however, leaves a bit to be desired. There is pear, but it doesn’t taste natural and definitely leans towards the perfume side of things. It’s still drinkable, and somewhat enjoyable. Just not what I was looking for. Maybe it would be better iced?

Super tart. Blech. Next time, will brew with some sugar. All I can taste is sour. I don’t know what other flavors there are because I can’t taste them.

drank Blueberry Black by Capital Teas

I’ve yet to find my perfect blueberry tea, which tastes like fresh blueberries without needing any sweetener. Unfortunately, this tea is not it. It’s a pleasant tea but not what I was hoping. The blueberry taste wasn’t very strong, even with some sugar.

However, I left my unfinished mug sitting on the table while I went out to run errands. By the time I came back it had chilled and tasted just like blueberries. So this tea is infinitely better iced than hot, and I might have to make some iced tea even if it is December.

I made a mug of this today without any additional sugar, and it is delicious. The peppermint comes right through and the white chocolate adds a nice creaminess to the flavor. No sugar needed – it’s subtly sweet, which is perfect. I may have to go back and buy some more before the inevitable discontinuing of this tea after the holidays. It is a bit pricey for a rooibos tea, but it is delicious enough to be worth it.

drank Earl Grey Moonlight by Adagio Teas

This is a bit disappointing. It has a slight citrus flavor but I wish it was stronger, and creamier. I was expecting a bit more special considering this isn’t supposed to be a normal earl grey. It’s not a bad earl grey, but just not what I was expecting.

YUM. I got a sample of this in the store and it was delicious. Peppermint and white chocolate, just as advertised. The clerk did tell me it was sweetened, so I’m interested to see how it would taste without added sugar. Considering the peppermint bits and chocolate, I don’t think it would need sugar…

I bought some of this from Teavana yesterday during their after Thanksgiving sale. I really like this one, which makes me sad it is being discontinued (Tip: if it’s on clearance, it’s being discontinued. THANKS FOR MAKING ME FALL IN LOVE WITH IT, TEAVANA.)

I didn’t have the tea sweetened, but I imagine with some sugar, the flavors would really pop. As it was, it was a pretty low-key and subtly sweet tea that tasted like chocolate bananas. Mmmmm. Chocolate bananas. The best part was that the flavors did not taste artificial, which is not always the case with Teavana’s teas.

drank Foggy Morning Brekkie by T-We Tea

I’m not a huge fan of plain black teas, but I like this better than some others I’ve had. There is a subtleness to the taste that is almost sweet, while still being earthy without any bitterness. I like this.

drank Green Tea by Rwanda Mountain Tea
353 tasting notes

A coworker returned from a trip to Rwanda with a box of this to share. It’s very different from Chinese green tea, which I was not expecting at all. First, this tea LOOKS different. The color is muted, and it looks like tiny pellets. Only unlike other pellet teas (gunpowder), the leaves don’t unfurl. And once steeped, the tea leaves turned a muted brown color

Taste-wise, the tea is actually pretty bitter, and slightly unpleasant, actually. (And I like a bit of bitterness in my tea!)

This is okay. It’s not my favorite but it’s passable. It does fit Dean, though. It’s a strong, savory blend with an undertone of subtley and softness. Just like Dean.

I’m a tea-aholic. I’ve always loved tea. It is soothing and warm and comforting. I always had it when we went out to eat as a child so my first association is with rich and delicious food.

As an adult, I’m learning to enjoy tea on its own merits, and bask in its subtleties and varieties. The ritual of making a cup of tea is instantly relaxing.

I prefer oolong and white teas, followed by greens. For the most part, I don’t like straight black tea, but appreciate it as part of a blend or flavored. I’ve learned to love the world of flavored teas out there.

I’m slowly learning to appreciate rooibos blends, which I started drinking for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Love: Oolong, almond, coconut, peach
Hate: Ginger
