drank Pumpkin Spice Brulee by Teavana
353 tasting notes

So despite walking into Teavana just to get an iced drink, I impulse bought this tea. After I bought it, I remembered chrimabro telling me it wasn’t worth buying.

The tea is… odd. The spices are overpowering and a bit of a weird combination. However, with some almond milk, it tones down the spices a lot and makes it pretty damn tasty. Not sure it’s something I’ll buy again, though, considering the price. (The issue of not enough oolong to justify the price of the tea, has happens with other oolong blends at Teavana.)

This was in my first highly anticipated order form 52teas. Hot, I was disappointed. None of the blueberry or cream cheese flavor came through, even with some sugar. I left the mug on my dining room table as I left for the day, and when I came back and it was chilled through the highly technical method of not turning on the heat in my condo.

YUM. Okay, cooled down, all the flavors came out to play. Blueberry, cream cheese. So, lesson learned. Iced all the way with this tea.

First trying this unsweetened. It’s pleasant but the flavors are more subtle than I like. I’ll be trying this again sweetened and hoping that really makes the blueberry pop.

Went to the doctor who told me my blood pressure was high. Immediately downing rooibos because when I was drinking it non-stop after I gave myself tendinitis, the doctor told me I had good BP.

Anyway, I like this. Surprisingly yummy, considering I haven’t been that impressed with some other rooibos teas from Enjoying Tea. I didn’t even have to doctor this with sugar. It’s subtly citrusy, though I expect it would be more so if I put in some sugar.

drank Marzipan Sunset by Design a Tea

I haven’t had much marzipan, or I hadn’t had it often enough that the taste of it stayed with me. I just feel like it is something delicious and yummy, but I honestly didn’t know what I was expecting when I ordered this tea.

I did like it. The taste is subtle, and sweet but not overly so, and it a nice cuppa to sip while watching Supernatural on Netflix. I have let my mug sit her for a bit and it’s cooled down, and it still tastes nice cold.

I wish there was another flavor in here, though. Something fruity, maybe. I may have to play around with some flavors in my next order.

drank Choco*Latte by American Tea Room

My only other experience previously with a chocolate tea was Cocoa Canula from David’s Tea which, no matter how long I steeped or how much sugar I added, still tasted like very very watered down chocolate.

Choco*Late’s dark chocolate flavor came right through and reminded me very much of a less creamy Mexican Hot Chocolate. I imagine this would actually be great in a latte form. It’s still not quite the same as hot chocolate but close enough that I’m enjoying this. It’s subtly bitter-sweet, and pleasant in its own way. I kind of wish for some almond flavoring too, though.

drank Green Mango Peach by Tea Forte

My office manager gave me a few bags of this, and I’m finally trying it. The flavor in this is a bit weird. The mango and peach are faint, with the strongest flavor actually being peppermint.

I don’t hate it but I wouldn’t have bought this for myself, and won’t in the future.

Yummy. I got inspired by baked pear tarts. Mmmmm.

This isn’t quite as good as the tarts, but passable. The pear flavor is perfect. The almond is subtle but blends nicely with the pear. A bit of sugar really brings out the flavors.

drank Angry Pumpkin Tea by Design a Tea

I admit, I’m jealous of the coffee drinkers who go to Starbucks for Pumpkin Spiced Lattes as soon as they are available. I wanted a pumpkin tea equivalent, but hadn’t had any luck… until now.

I think I have found my fall pumpkin tea. I’d gone through several and this is the tastiest yet. Unlike some of the others, it actually tastes like pumpkin! And it tastes like spiced pumpkin.

It is delicious and the flavor comes through nicely without being overwhelming or artificial tasting.

I had this at a friend’s house. It was very pleasant, and the cardamon added a nice something extra on top of the regular ceylon black tea flavor without being overpowering.

Bio

I’m a tea-aholic. I’ve always loved tea. It is soothing and warm and comforting. I always had it when we went out to eat as a child so my first association is with rich and delicious food.

As an adult, I’m learning to enjoy tea on its own merits, and bask in its subtleties and varieties. The ritual of making a cup of tea is instantly relaxing.

I prefer oolong and white teas, followed by greens. For the most part, I don’t like straight black tea, but appreciate it as part of a blend or flavored. I’ve learned to love the world of flavored teas out there.

I’m slowly learning to appreciate rooibos blends, which I started drinking for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Love: Oolong, almond, coconut, peach
Hate: Ginger
