So I saw a pouch with a ‘T’ written on the back from my 52Teas mystery bag, flipped it over and it was this one. I was one of the lucky ones who tried the original Frank blend of this and I KNOW I’ve suggested this as a reblend. I didn’t even know it was part of the Christmas teas so I’m obviously very happy it was included in my mystery bag! I’m wondering how much Anne was aware of this though? (If it was possibly because it was on my wishlist or possibly because I wanted it reblended.) That would be extremely awesome but definitely don’t expect 52Teas to go THAT far with mystery bags! I’m not even sure if my order could have been connected to my Steepster name or if it was just a really great and crazy coincidence. ANYWAY
This blend is almost exactly how I remember Frank’s blend tasting which is pretty crazy in itself! I was wondering how the base could even taste so close to Frank’s original assam base when I read in Anne’s tasting note that she used an assam/assamica blend and not the usual mix of black teas for the base. The amounts of cinnamon, peach, and blackberry flavor are identical to what I remember. But HOW? How are the proportions in the blends so similar? Amazing. There were two huge peach pieces and a blackberry in my infuser. Since the tea is pretty fresh, I was kind of expecting more of a flavor that would make it a crumble but this is tasty anyway. To be honest, I kind of expected more magic from Anne’s fresh blend. But having both blends be so similar is magic too. Now if only Peachy Keen would be reblended…. another fantastic peach and blackberry tea! I could drink Peachy Keen every day. But this one is a great blend to revisit as it was one of my favorite blends from Frank.

Flavors: Blackberry, Cinnamon, Peach

Hi! I love tea and trying new ones – it adds a bit of variety to my day! Books, music, TV & movies are my thing… and tea, of course.

Most of the teas listed in my cupboard are actually sample sizes. I don’t really have 2,000 ounces of tea around here! Many of my teas have only one teaspoon left… maybe two. But I like keeping them in my cupboard list for reference to what I could be sipping. Usually, I write tasting notes once for each tea. I’m still drinking them, just not writing tasting notes each time!

I’m always in search of: Hattialli, Qu Hao black, Jin Jun Mei, teas using marshmallow root.

My dislikes: hibiscus, ginger (unless in chai), turmeric, bee pollen, charcoal type flavors

My ratings:
95-100 – Super awesome deliciousness favorites – cupboard essential
80-95 – Also pretty delicious
65-80 – Pretty good
50-65 – Okay
1-50 – Probably won’t want to sip it again

I’m planning on being a Steepsterer as long as there IS a Steepster, so if you’re not hearing from me, that means something happened to my health… if you know what I mean. (Or as evidenced by the great computer hiatus of 2019, something happened to my computer… I have a dumb phone so can’t access internet on that. As of 12/20/21 my wifi might start getting unreliable.)

Happy sipping!
