Ashmanra’s sipdown challenge – July 2024 Tea #5 – Tea from your prettiest tin
How about tea from any tin at all, as I don’t have many with me at the moment. This is a tin in Gram’s tea stash. Really the only tin of tea at Gram’s, and it’s good ol Comoro. I used two sachets for a larger mug for some reason and whooee is it strong stuff. Very strong for decaf. I have a mind to fill this tin with loose leaf when I run out, as I have been reading that some of you think the loose leaf is better. This particular tin is quite old now and I’m really just tasting this tough black tea that I’m hoping is at least a little bit decaf, as the flavor is saying otherwise. Only a few sachets left now…

I am out of this tea and I have to get some soonish! I do think the loose leaf is better. We shake the tin or turn it upside down to make sure those vanilla bean specks stay distributed. Oh dear, I feel a Harney order coming on….must be good and wait.
It’s odd though, because this old tin only says vanilla flavor and nothing about real vanilla.
I know how that is… I was just on Harney’s site, but refrained…
This is still one of my favorite Harney blends!
I just checked online and for both loose and sachets it says “black tea, natural vanilla flakes, vanilla flavor”, so hopefully they are still in there!
hopefully! I don’t know why the older tin wouldn’t mention the vanilla flakes…
