This smells AWESOME for a pu-erh!
Tropical but not fake! Almost Champagne-like, too!
It has a really neat semi-cloudy/texture-type amber color to it.
The aroma magnifies after infusion is complete! It still smells wonderful! Very tropical, airy, fruity, fresh!
WOW! Now this is a flavor I could see myself drinking more and more of! It’s a lovely flavored pu-erh! Very unique and creative! Juicy! With just a hint of woodsy-puerh to it.
It lingers with a smoother tropical fruit flavor that is very satisfying.
Above all else…a VERY nicely flavor pu-erh! WOW!
I think it was Azz who sent me this one, so sorry, if someone else did! Eeeek!
This is really nice and smooth and roasted and sweet. That about sums it up, really! I’m really impressed with this flavor, tho, it doesn’t look all that interesting but it IS super flavorful and unique!
A nice slurping or Gulping tea!
Stacy You are an angel!
Thanks!
Every time I see or hear about something Maple Pecan flavored I think of my Grandpa…RIP. I’ll get more into that story as to why when I review this in a more lengthier review over at Sororitea Sisters in the future.
Anyhow…I am super excited to try this one! I’m also really happy Stacy used a Nilgiri Oolong here, too! I have large REAL Pecans in this and that I LOVE. I might just have to gnaw on one after it’s finished infusing!
The Maple is nice and even aroma-wise and there is a sugary-sweet aroma to follow, too! The pecans are delightful and of course…NUTTY!
The flavor is VERY Pecan-esque with a bit of sugary-sweet Maple flavor. It is certainly comparable to Maple Pecan Ice Cream or Maple Walnut Ice Cream but in tea form.
I also wanted to share with you – incase you missed it last month – on my blog – what I did with Pecans! I was darned proud of myself actually…check it out…

This flavored Oolong is an amazingly flavored oolong! Excellent! And more importantly…TRUE to it’s name!
YUMMO!
you’re only JUST trying this now?!?!? for shame! I really love this one..EVEN though it’s an oolong lol. I have about one cup left in the bag that i ordered from stacy lol
just sounds to me like you have too much tea and should be sending off some of your compass, talbott and steapshoppe teas to meeeee hahaha
oh man… this day may never end. I’m going craaaaazyyy!
You know what…THAT sounds like a plan :) PM me your addy! I have many of those HANDY right now I was thinking of who I can send them to!
Well, I had a bone-head move and totally missed the sign-ups for the 12 Days Swap thingie that many of the steepsters did! BUT…I’m lucky enough to have Azzrian for a Sororitea Sister and she was awesome and sent some of this one to me! Thanks so much!
Of course my other Sororitea Sister Liberteas is SUPER AWESOME too! I LOVE my sista’s!
SIDEBAR:
I completed the Iron Chef – STEEPSTER – Chickpeas & Tea Challenge – it’s now on my blog as well as in the forums/threads!

I just finished my lunch and that is what was for lunch. This tea is my after-lunch tea, today!
It smells a little like Currant and a Spice. It’s pretty nice!
It’s a medium brown in color and the black tea base is a bit mellower but the currant really pops thru on top of it. This is a bit juicy bitter but in a good way and a little peppery underneath. It has a smoother finish and I like that very much!
Special thanks to Jillian for this one! This is the first tea I have had from this company!!!
HOLY Brambleberries, Batman!
I was afraid because this is chalk-full of fruit, Rosehib, and Hibiscus. BUT…you know what? This isn’t half bad! I’m pleasantly surprised! This is a sugary-fruity-juicy-berry-yet-tropical-mesh of flavors and it works well!
WOW! I can taste those scary ingredients but the strawberry, pineapple, papaya, Raspberries, and Apple are present – and more in the forefront – to counteract the dreaded hibiscus. YAY!
I’m drinking this hot but think it would be delightful iced!
Not too shabby!
Stacy RULES!
Thanks!!!!
Dry this smells like a glorious Plum/Cream Pudding flavor!
It infuses to a warming orange/brown color.
After infusing this smells like Plum, Sugary/Creamy Pudding, a bit of cinnamon/sugar, and a hint of citrus. It’s an aroma all of it’s own! Ahhh!
Oh my!
It’s not shy!
It’s right around medium strength and is a cross between a weaker black and a medium strength and slightly roasted oolong. It has a lovely base!
It has an amazing custardy type taste and texture. Yes! First it’s the pudding likeness then followed by the plum, then the orange, a bit of spice, and a little floral hint, too. The after taste is a combo of the Pudding, Plum, and Cinnamon – it’s really fantastic!
The sugary notes play around with you a little – and pop in and out – throughout the sipping experience!
WOW!
Just. Wow!
The more I sip this the more I like it! The flavors bounce around a little but all stay within the product description, too!
Really Wonderful! LOVE this!
i need her other teas to go up so i can do one large order lol Just re-visited the site to add up all the teas i want. ten teas later… eesh!
Smells a lot like Hojicha – roasted! Yum!
It has the brown roasted leaves instead of the twigs, tho, that is the major different to the eye. It is more gentle that I thought it would be but I like this mellow flavor on the tongue. Springy! Gently Roasted! A near Steamed rice/veggie type flavor, even. With a sweeter finish! Lovely!
Stacy from Butiki Thank You for this one as well as the other teas you sent us at Sororitea Sisters!
I didn’t see this one on the website (YET) but if aroma counts I share hope you add it!
It smells hearty like a meal, slightly bready, and malty.
WOWZA! This is a STRONG TEA! I’m glad I actually followed the instructions of ONLY 1 teaspoon – I usually use more because I LOVE strong black teas! BUT this is CRAZY bold, intensely strong, malty, peppery, and an interesting level of crustiness to it!
It should be called Grandpa’s Anytime (You Need A Kick In The Pants) Tea!
I love it!
It does smooth out more as it cools naturally at room temp but it’s still hearty and full of flavor!
A little bit goes a long way with this one and I think it’s DANDY!
oh i have money to burn with stacy…she’s the only expception to my "must drink my stash down to 150 teas before ordering more* rule that i’m TRYING to stick to… but not only are we working on the strawberry rhubarb tea from the contest but there are at least 2 straight teas of hers i’d like to try, then there’s the plum tea, the three friends, eggnog, potato applesauce uh…and i think another that i’m forgetting.
Not to mention that I still have an abundance of her teas i’m working through.
this is where i say… i don’t really need you to taste them to tell me i know i’m going to want them hahahaha pretty much almost a guarantee that i’ll pick up at least a half ounce (or an ounce) of almost any of stacy’s flavoured teas that sound like i’d like them….because i always do.
TeaEqualsBliss-This one should be up on our website in about a week. The Potato Pancake, Kamba Berry, and Highland Green will be up either tonight or tomorrow. I’m really hoping to make this one into a special chai.
i swear you just make me wait to torment me stacy… just watch there will be “technical difficulties” that prevents the tea from posting lol (i kid i kid!)
Sil & Helena-Hahaha. :) I will say the last technical difficulties were so not fun. My hosting company was hacked when I was trying to upload the new pages. Whoever hacked it also put up service tech numbers that were to a porn number and without knowing that I called the number. So, every 10 minutes or so I was getting a text from a that number. Still to this day like once a week I get a text from that phone number.
lmao ok stacy that just made me laugh…a lot. Not that i’m laughing at your pain but oh man… just teh mental image of you calling a porn number unknowingly… “yes i’d like to report a technical issue with my website” "oh yes baby…i can help you with you “website” yeah anyHOOOOO…. la la la
Sil-Hahahaha. I kept getting messages asking if I would like to party with underage girls. Um, no thanks. Hahaha.
Indigobloom-It was amusing at first but very quickly became annoying. Ah well, at least its only once a week now.
Indigobloom-The Kamba Berry is a blend done by Royal Tea of Kenya. Its a special blend that is dedicated to the Kamba tribe in Kenya and is their take on a berry blend using the purple tea with a specific focus on using ingredients with a high amount of antioxidants.
I wanted to mention that though Grandpa’s Anytime tea is a CTC tea, it has a ton of flavor and some very nice chocolate notes. I tend to water this one down a bit but I find it very delicious. I never thought we would carry a CTC other than for a chai blend but this is very tasty. I’ve been reading a lot lately about the quality of many CTCs being very high and I feel like this is one of them. This tea will also be used in a special chai blend that we are working on.
hmmm if my other Kally Teas work out i may have to try this one eventually
I’m a fan of Kally, too! :)
i have 13 unopened bags sitting in my house from the black friday special where they doubled every order (i split the order with indigobloom so I wouldn’t end up with 4oz of each!!) I just haven’t had a chance to sit and open them…since i’ve been trying to get through some of the sample sizes i have in the house haha
This is one of the only flavored Pu-erh’s I recommend to anyone and it’s really different. Most of the others are chocolate. This is a good one.
oh man now I wish we’d ordered this as well!
haha indigo…there will always be time for more orders :) Let’s get through some tea first!
Agreed!! I’m drinking as fast as I can… but it never seems enough :/
