I always used to complain when I had to drink Jasmine tea. I always thought that the jasmine overpowered the underlying tea and made it undrinkable. Then, I finally tried some GOOD jasmine tea and the difference is night and day.

This jasmine tea from Shang, using his fantastic silver needle king, is a great tea to enjoy anytime during the day.

When I 1st got into tea and would go into a tea shop I’d tell whoever was helping me “No floral teas, I don’t want to drink my grandma’s perfume!” but as my tastes have matured I LOVE jasmine and even rose teas (chocolate and rose is one of my favorite combos).

I also think that when I started drinking jasmine, I had some that were Jasmine FLAVORED rather than scented. The difference is huge, scented is so much better and really incorporates and infuses the taste of the jasmine flower into the tea leaves without losing the underlying taste

I began my tea adventure when a counselor at Spanish camp introduced me to yerba mate. From there I soon started to embrace all different kinds of tea.

Currently my favorite tea is dragonwell, with silver needles being a close second. I really enjoy trying new teas and experimenting with different steep times and temperatures,
