From 52teas

Please Note: This listing is for Lemon Dreams chamomile & Rooibos blend crafted back in 2012. There is an additional listing for Lemon Dream Herbal Tisane crafted in 2023. These are two different teas! Thank you!

I have an odd relationship with chamomile. Chamomile is like the really cute girl that I WANT to like, but she’s so sweet and cloying that I just can’t take her seriously. You know they type: She gets you an anniversary gift for your one week anniversary; wears a t-shirt that professes her love for you and offers you the matching shirt…

I WANT to like chamomile, really I do, but it’s so sweet and heady and flowery; it’s just too much. BUT… a little bit of chamomile with a LOT of honeybush, some lemon myrtle and organic lemon flavors, THAT is a tea I can cozy up with. I hope you enjoy this blend as much as I do.

This is one of those 52teas blends that I really wanted to get when it first came out, but my tea budget said “no way!” Thankfully (for my wallet) I got to swap with Starfevre for a whole pouch! For a girl with insomnia, 2 ounces of sleepy tea is an absolute dream. Because, much like how medicine becomes less effective the more you use it, I’ve found my usual go-to night tea (Marketspice’s Knockout) to be losing some potency.

This is a pretty simple mix of flavors: lemon, chamomile, honeybush. But together they really are dreamy! Floral, woodsy, and wonderfully lemony. It’s a soft citrus, rather creamy. And the honeybush and chamomile blend perfectly together: the chamomile’s floral is toned down and the honeybush isn’t so sweet. It’s such a drowsy blend, a few sips (with honey!) have me almost nodding off. I’m kind of sad this one isn’t a permanent blend, it’s so useful (not to mention delicious).

Getting late in the evening so time to see if this stuff works!
It, of course, smells like lemon and chamomile. Nothing hiding there.
It’s relaxing for sure. Nothing sharp or lasting in it. Smooth to drink. The lemon is the most distinct but it’s not “overdone”. A very tasty treat. I plan to have this tea on many a late night!

Adjusted this up from high 90s to 100 because it just got better the longer I sipped it. Love this tea and it will be part of my permanent stash going forward.

It is a wonderful thing to find these teas in our lives…the ones we know we will love for many a cup or pot to come!

Backlog:

Yeah, I have a huge bunch of teas to be backlogging, I haven’t been on steepster much.

I almost want to start this tasting note off by saying “for a chamomile tisane this is pretty tasty” but that’s kind of dissing it and I don’t really want to do that … because it’s actually really tasty. I usually shy away from chamomile but the truth is I don’t hate chamomile as much as I seem to think I do. This is really nice with the lemon-y tones. It’s also very relaxing.

mixed a bit of this in with the “get some zzz’s” tea to mask the flavor of valerian (which makes me sleepy, but smells like butt). It definitely helped!

I’ve compared valerian to licking a tree branch, but I get where you’re coming from :)

Serendipity comes in the form of Lemon Dreams as I am looking for a honeybush to soothe my sore throat, maybe with chamomile to help me sleep. The company’s description is spot on in that it’s not overly floral but still that magic touch of apple/hay from chamomile. The lemon is lighter than the dry tea smell suggests so I don’t consider this a dessert tea but very enjoyable. I guess I can throw chamomile and honeybush together but my experience tells me it’s never just like a professionally blended tea. I really like it but wouldn’t rate it super high score just to give perspective to my favorites such as Earl Grey Cheesecake – for an every day tea when I want a chamomile, this scores ten out of ten.

I have always been rather fond of Chamomile tea so I was a little skeptical of this blend at first. My fears were totally unfounded as combining Chamomile with lemon and a Honeybush base is delightful. The predominate flavor in this blend is lemon however if you watch your steep times you get to enjoy the delicate Chamomile and sweet finish that only Honeybush can provide. This is an excellent cup to unwind to at the end of a crazy day.

A nice twist on regular chamomile, and better than Sleepytime Peach, for sure. The lemon flavor isn’t too in your face, but it blends nicely with the chamomile. A hint of honey is lovely with this.

Okay, so I accidentally let this one get cold. Luckily this is incredible cold and tastes exactly like lemon meringue pie to me. It’s creamy and lemony without being too sweet or too sharp. Very nice!

This one has been languishing by the kettle at home for a while now. I thought it would be exactly my kind of thing when I bought it – lemon chamomile honeybush is just the kind of thing I like in a pre-bedtime cup. Sadly, we didn’t get on as well as I thought we would. My gaze fell on this one again the other evening, though, and I decided to give it another go. I used 1 tsp of leaf, and gave it 3 minutes in boiling water. This time, I added a teaspoon of honey to the finished cup.

I will say that perhaps the honey made things a bit too sweet, but it was certainly an improvement on a plain cup. Maybe ½ tsp of honey next time. Either way, I could start to enjoy this one again!

An absolutely fabulous blend. It has a bright, lemony aroma. The taste has a nice hint of lemon. Very soothing and relaxing to have in the evening. I love this tea!
