Review for the Anne reblend. Not a favourite; I tasted grapefruit but not really brown sugar. I think I prefer the grapefruit scrub “drink, don’t eat” tea, although it’s been a while since I’ve had that one.

ETA: Just checked out my previous review; Anne suggested a pinch of salt, and possibly also sugar. That may make a nice difference here.

Hmm, salt. Interesting.

I thought the same!

I just got back from the tea studio where I did a final inventory count of this tea (& I just finished posting those numbers) – so I thought I’d bring my stash of this one to my pantry & enjoy it. I didn’t keep a lot of it aside for me because I didn’t make a whole lot of it and I had quite a few customers who had asked for it so I wanted to make sure that they got some of it before I indulged myself – because – truth be told, I do have quite a bit of tea for me to indulge in.

I really like how this one turned out. The grapefruit is bright and juicy – but not too tart. I am not particularly fond of tart (which is why you don’t catch me working with hibiscus too often – way too tart for my liking – and when I do work with it, I use just enough to add some body and color but not enough to lend it’s syrupy tartness to the cup.)

But I love grapefruit. Generally, when I indulge in a grapefruit, it isn’t with brown sugar (but I bet that’s really nice) – I tend to sprinkle the top of the grapefruit half with salt which tends to reduce the bitter tartness of it to my palate’s liking.

But I like how the brown sugar essence here tames the tartier notes of the grapefruit just enough so that you know that you’re tasting grapefruit but you’re not getting too much pucker — & you’re not getting too much cloying sweetness from the brown sugar either. A really nice balance.

Anyway, this one’s almost gone so – if it’s one that you’ve been waiting for – please be sure to stop by my website & grab some! I won’t be reblending this one for quite some time!!

Another sip down. I’ll certainly miss this one. Juicy grapefruit, and sweet caramelized brown sugar. Such a great blend.

Generally I have found that I love the idea of grapefruit teas, but not the execution. Most grapefruit teas are tart or bitter, which reminds me of white grapefruit. I’m a huge fan of sweet red grapefruit, not white. This is the first tea I’ve tried that reminds me of red grapefruit. The brown sugar flavor really makes this delicious. I taste grapefruit and brown sugar. And, the tea is so creamy. I wish I had more of this one.

I thought for sure this tea would have more reviews!
I got this from Marzipan. It tastes exactly as you’d expect. I taste tart grapefruit and a lingering bit of sweetness from brown sugar. Today has been my lucky tea day because everything has been so gooood.

I love when all the tea is good.

Backlog:

I’m always on the look out for a yummy grapefruit tea. I’ve tried quite a few as I’ve tried to find a tea that would help me recapture my experience that I had with a grapefruit green tea in Tohono Chul park in Tucson. As it turns out, I found the exact tea that tea was, but, it just doesn’t taste the same at home as it did in that charming little tea house.

Oh well.

Moving on to this tea, this is a very tasty tea. The Shou Mei is earthy and sweet and delicate. The grapefruit is juicy and bright with a nice balance of tart, bitter and sweet notes. The sweetness of the brown sugar softens some of the tartness, I think.

Nice for a second steep too: I tasted more grapefruit and less brown sugar.

Tasty.

I can’t believe I haven’t rated this yet. I don’t know if I’ve had any other grapefruit teas but I find it pleasant. It’s the brown sugar note that stands out.

Well not so much stands out but melds with the grapefruit. It’s very authentic tasting to me. The white base is present but sits in the background as a comforting solidness that wraps up the fruitiness and pulls the tea together. Slightly sweet but not artificially so.

This is definitely comforting. A cuddle up in bed with blankets and read a good book tea.

I too am surprised more people haven’t reviewed this lovely tea.

I’m really still the only person who has reviewed this?

LiberTEAS

I just brewed a pot of this to write a review for the SororiTea Sisters site!

I meant to review it but lost my pouch in the move :( . I really like it a lot but feel like I can’t do it justice with out drinking it right before reviewing.

I want to buy another pouch but after my latest butiki order I just can’t justify it when I know I have one somewhere.
