From A.C. Perch's Thehandel

We are proud to present this unique Japan Oolong from Makinohara Province, Shizuoka. This province is the largest tea-producing area in the Shizuoka region. This Japan Oolong is descended from Camellia Sinensis, Benifuki and has been harvested in May 2019. Once the leaves have been harvested, they are dried to highlight a lovely, naturally perfumed flavor, after which they are oxidized. After oxidation, the leaves are fried in a drum for approx. 2 hours. When the tea leaves are finished, a final sorting is done, where stems and the like are sorted out to perfect the tea.

Due to gentle treatment, this Oolong is rich in methyl catechins and polyphenols.

When the leaf has unfolded completely, there is a tendency for the leaf to appear blue-green, the cup, on the other hand, has a nice reddish color.

Recommended preparation: 100⁰ water / 6 g. Per liter of water.

Pulling time: 5 – 6 minutes. At spring water – shorter.

A.C. Perch Advent 2021 Day 7

I made a mess of this one sadly. I had yet another hectic work day (cleaning up the mess of others) and steeped this one up, only to have to run out the door. When I finally arrived home hours later, it was ice cold. I drank it anyway and noticed a hint of bitterness with some sweetness overlaying it. Nothing too special, but most certainly my own fault.

Today I threw the rest of the leaves in my cup to steep a fresh cup, but I think I overleaped because it was quite bitter — very radicchio! Sigh, definitely chalk this up to user error on my part!
