Sipdown (271)…sorta

I remember Roswell Strange really disliking this tea and then I checked the tea page and Sil rated it a 13 and started her note by calling it so gross. So I was really excited to try this…

It’s not good. They’re both right. It’s not. However, it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. Perhaps age has helped this because I’m getting a lot of orange and almond. It’s artificial tasting and not great but not terrible either.

Honestly, I thought it would be one sip and then a dump but I was able to finish the glass. Doesn’t mean I want to have it again though so this is going into the swap box.

Evol Ving Ness

Wow, I don’t recall you often having this kind of response (with the exception of that AU blend recently and even then).

Also, HOW can it smell so delicious and then disappoint so thoroughly?

Autistic Goblin

I hate it when that happens.

Sil

it’s happened before evol, but not often

Well, I definitely don’t hate this one as much as Sil because I still found the cup was drinkable as a whole. However, it once again channeled some serious Flintstone’s Chewable Vitamins/chalky orange flavour that made for an unfortunate cup.

Almonds notes were good – but that’s maybe the nicest thing I can say? That damn orange flavour though…

Bleck.

Evol Ving Ness Bah! Too bad. Sounds like it would be good.

Fourth January subscription box tea. It sounded amazing, but sadly, this one did not work for me at all. The aroma of the dry leaves is pretty good – a bright orange mixed with almond flavouring. However, the steeped brew was really not good – it tasted somewhat like a citrus cleaner, and a bit bleachy. I’ll obviously try again, and maybe go a touch lighter on the leaf in case that had an impact, but I actually had to pour this one out as it was undrinkable (and that’s saying something, considering I almost always just drink whatever’s in front of me at work, even if it’s not something I care for).
