Soooo, long time no post, again. The short story is that I’ve been working too much to bother, and also, I’m 3 (far too short and terrifying) days away from having a baby! :D So I’ve been a little occupied. But I’m thinking mat leave might be a good time to get back into posting regularly… but we’ll see.

Anyhow, I still have obscene amounts of tea despite drinking it regularly, but I still indulge in my monthly box from AQ2T because it brings me joy to receive 4 new teas every month (and bonus, they’re usually tasty).

This tea uses my one of my absolute favourite base teas – rolled yunnan. It’s the base of my beloved Peach Crostata, as well as some other tea that I’m currently not remembering the name of. The base is just so malty and delicious, and the blending is typically superb such that the flavouring pairs perfectly with the richness to make an amazing cup.

This tea is no exception. The blackberry flavouring is perfectly layered with the base here, producing a smooth, rich, deliciously juicy cup. I’ve always enjoyed blackberry blacks, particularly the blackberries + cream varieties, but this one blows anything I’ve tried away. The smoothness of the base is likely one of the keys here making it so enjoyable.

Would highly, highly recommend this tea and kind of wish it would get a spot in the permanent collection… in 10+ years when I am allowed to buy new tea.

Ugh, as if I needed another tea company to try! :P

Ha. I would strongly recommend Lauren’s teas. :) If there’s one good thing, they’re sold in small quantities including tiny sample sizes?
