Thanks to MissB for sending a sample of this to my wife today! and thanks to my wife for sharing it! I’m always on the lookout for new Rooibos blends, being on a low caffeine diet makes for challenging tea drinking sometimes, so I was excited for this one! It’s a tricky tea, trying for Tangerine was a bold move but I’m not entirely sure the tea made it there. At times it’s a triumph, like a fresh orange on a hot day, but other times it comes across as artificial. Like orange flavored cough drops if I’m honest. I think the problem is that bits of tangerine rind were included, but not tangerine itself (freeze dried or otherwise). Rind can either work or taste very bitter, and in this tea sometimes it went one and sometimes the other. If I had more I might experiment with different sweetners to try and stabilize the taste. I’m going to recommend this tea though because it’s definitely worth a try!

I can definitely send you more, I have quite a bit of it. Can also throw in some of my favorite non-caffeinated blends!

Brian

Thanks! Any recommendations you can offer for non-caff teas would be very much appreciated!

I’ve got quite the selection, it just depends on what you like. Lemon Meringue and Blueberry Lagoon by Tealish are both excellent, as is Clari Tea and Ginger Snap by Whispering Pines. Herbal Infusion’s Cacao and Cacao Vanilla are two of my all-time favorites, and TeaGschwendner has a few lovely options too such as Kapha, Bamboo Pomelo (by far my favorite herbal), and Detox. Simpson & Vail’s Candy Cane is so yummy that I bought a pound of it, and Adagio’s Green Rooibos Citron is a staple at my house. Any of Della Terra’s Chiffons are nice as well (Lemon, Lime or Lemon Lime Tart), and Zen Tea’s Rooibos Chai and Bamboo Integrity are must-haves. Those are just off the top of my head…

Oh! And Butiki’s Peppermint Patty and Birthday Cake are also excellent, and I drink Super Ginger! and Cold 911 from DAVIDs Tea relatively often too.

Darn it, I know I logged this the other night. Ah well. This is infinitely better hot; cold, it’s just a faintly flavored rooibos. Hot, it’s all juicy tangerine/orange with something granular added to the mix.
