From Adagio Teas

This tea blends together the taste of juicy blueberries with premium white tea from Fujian province, China. Very fragrant, like freshly harvested ‘highbush’ blueberries (the aromatic variety). Soft, rounded mouthfeel with a clean, refreshing finish. A customer favorite, this tea is delectable both hot and cold.

Good tea. A lovely light brew, with subtle notes of blueberry floating over delicate, almost honeydew notes from the white. Works well unsweetened or with a spoonful of sugar. Tastes like proper blueberry, which I was worried about when I first tried it, because fake berry flavour is gross. So this didn’t disappoint at all. Delightful.

I feel like I could use something with a bit more gravitas to motivate me to get more done today, so I might do a bit of experimenting in the kitchen. It’s 4 (how the heck is it 4?) and because I woke up to an email telling me that Netflix has added season 5 of Star Trek: The Next Generation, I’ve been a bit, shall we say, preoccupied. Let’s see if I can get that sourdough loaf into the oven, finish 2 paintings, and get started on a couple cozies to put on etsy before I’m out of town on Thursday. OH HELL NO I HAVEN’T EVEN STARTED PACKING panic

That must be American Netflix, right? They just took all our ST:TNG away!!! :( (They did give us 8 Seasons of Supernatural though… so… that’s pretty good)

Sami Kelsh

Noes, how could they deny you TNG? That’s just plain mean!

Sami Kelsh

(Oh and it’s UK Netflix, no idea what the situation is like in America. It’s probably great.)

A pretty decent bagged white tea. I even spotted a whole dried blueberry in the pouch! The flavor is sweet and soft. Very relaxing to sip. Delicate. A very nice tea.

I’m slamming a pitcher of iced blueberry at the moment and it is so good and refreshing! Its obligatory at this point to pound a lot of white tea so I can get over this H1N1 virus more quickly. Yes, I got the swine flu …but I have hope this white tea and all of its wonderful antioxidants will help with the longevity and reduce the symptoms. I’ll let you know!

White tea also lowers body temp so it should get rid of your fever. Try their white cucumber, it’s my FAVORITE! I’m praying for you.

LENA

I have faith in this tea….it’s one of my favs. Did you eat any of the blueberries? I have an internal debate everytime I make a cup of this one. Feel better!

Jason

Good luck with the H1N1. I’m recovering from that too :(

kat

Thanks for the well wishes..doing my share of indulging on tea and sleeping!

Erin

I got the swine flu in June, I’m sorry you had to go through it too. When I got back to school, people thought it was MOST entertaining to oink at me.

Cofftea

FINALLY got the vaccine (and the regular flu shot) today!

My thanks to Short Sorceress for a sample of this tea.

This a very slight flavoured tea. The blueberry taste is evident, but barely there. The white tea base provides a light, fresh backdrop to the subtle fruit flavour. This is a refreshing change to the strong and tart fruit flavoured tea’s that I currently own.

Unlike Short Sorceress, I did find a blueberry floating in my tea, and I promptly ate it.

First review. Nice and soft blueberry scent and pretty dry blend of light tea leaves and small dry blueberries. Steeped about 4 minutes tasted and let it go another minute. First sip is light with slight blueberry flavor and no added sugar. I added sugar which brought the blueberry flavor to the front and was really the best way to drink this brew. Most white tea has a distinct white tea note that is floral but this white is quite bland. Then I added milk to see if the blueberry flavor would become creamy and rich but it actually became dull since the berry is subdued so I personally would not add any milk or cream in the future. All said and done…this is an average tea a little light for my taste but maybe great for people who have a more sensitive palate. I like assertive more expressive flavors.

It really amazes me how much my opinion of this tea has changed and I have to question Adagio’s quality control a little. I was in the mood for something blueberry today so I dug through my pile of samples because I had just seen an unopened package of the white blueberry in there while I was organizing the other day. It had completely slipped my mind that I had already rated this a little over two weeks ago and already had an open package. The taste between my two packages of tea were so different it’s hard to believe that it is the same tea. What really bugs me is that both packages of this tea were purchased within two weeks of each other, I double checked.

I was really disappointed this time around because there was absolutely no blueberry taste to it at all, just a hint of sweetness, and the smell wasn’t nearly as strong in the package. I had to figure out where I had put the other one so I could compare. If the packages hadn’t been labeled I would have thought these were two totally different teas. Adding sugar helped bring out the blueberry flavor that was lacking, but I really hate sweetening my tea.

This wasn’t undrinkable by any means, but I didn’t find it nearly as good this time so I’m going to lower my rating from an 81 to a 69.

This needs all high ratings! lol. I am obsessed with blueberry so I guess that’s all I have to say. It works so good with white tea. I am not usually a fan of Adagio but they hit it right!

definitely better with two teaspoons of the leaves. The blueberry smell is much stronger than the flavor. It’s subtle and refreshing. Will definitely be buying a bigger tin of this.

I use ~1TB for mine. I’ve also found a shorter steeping time of 3min is actually more flavorful.
