From American Tea Room

Like Qimen Mao Feng, Qimen Imperial is known for its smooth, malty taste. It is from the Qimen region of China and is sometimes referred to as a “Keemun” tea. Qimen Imperial’s compact leaves are charcoal-colored with caramel-toned tips. They smell strongly of malt. The deep, dark ruby infusion has a bold, malty aroma with sophisticated scents of leather, rich earth and cocoa. The flavor is full, winey and malty with hints of dark chocolate astringency, green grape acidity and cracked pepper spiciness. Like the flavor, the finish is malty, but it also has an alluringly sweet, dense note of spiced red wine.

Sipdown no. 68 of 2017 (no. 349 total). A sample.

This is one of the samples I tried a while back and hoarded. It was time to say goodbye.

Still delish after all these years. Nothing to add to the original note.
