From American Tea Room

This unusual, appealing twist on a classic British tea is a connoisseur’s Earl Grey. Forest-green leaves with flecks of lime and spring green are imbued with the intense, peppery, fresh aroma of bergamot from Calabria, Italy. They brew into a spring yellow-green with a milky, hazy appearance. The aroma is at once classic Sencha (marine, vegetal and sweet) and juicy, vanilla-tinged bergamot. Clean and full, fresh and green, the flavors of this tea are nuanced and pleasingly dainty. Notes of tart-sweet citrus and lightly steamed asparagus with a squeeze of lemon juice wash over the palate, and are followed by a perfumey bergamot aftertaste that’s sure to delight event the most traditional of Earl Grey fans.

This is the best balance of bergamot and green tea flavor I’ve found, and the tea is quite tasty. If only I liked the bergamot better. There’s something odd about it – it tastes like it was cut in half. I mean with part of the flavor just missing, not like it’s weak. My favorite Earl Green yet, but it’s not a terribly successful category for me to start with, which makes me sad. There is so much potential here.
