My favorite tea when I was little. Good for nostalgia. Makes me think of cold nights and winter. Orange tea will always be one of my favorite flavors and the added spice is even better.

The comfort food of tea. Subtle it is not, but I love it and every so often I have a massive craving. One of the few truly good things the United States has ever done for tea.

I got this tea for my mom. I have tried and tried to get her into other types of tea, but she just wants her sweet and spicy Good Earth tea.

So I brewed some for both of us, and we both tried it. I found it bitter, and the flavor was weak. I needed sugar to enjoy. My mom took one sip, and didn’t want anymore. We tried it iced, and it was hard to drink it all. I had high hopes for such a tea with such a following. Just wasn’t our kind…

I feel like they changed the recipie, anyone else get that vibe? It used to be much stronger, flavorful and spicy…

Bigelow Tea

Rebs,
Quite the contrary, the recipe hasn’t been changed in over 65 years…hope you are still enjoying your Constant Comment!

I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it before this year since it’s such a popular tea. I tried it today, and it was good, but I probably shouldn’t have left the teabag in the cup as I was drinking it, because the spices were stronger than I expected.

Glad that you enjoyed your first cup of Constant Comment. Did you know that this was the first tea ever made by Bigelow Tea?

Thanks,

Amanda Yorke

Thank you =) No, I didn’t know that. I just assumed Bigelow had already been established for a while before Constant Comment. That must make Constant Comment a pretty old recipe. ;-) I definitely plan to have it again.

I suppose I owe this little grocery store teabag tea a great deal of gratitude. It has been my fall/winter companion for many years. It was my push to get my first “special” tea cup and lead me to explore into the world of whole leaf. I love the smell of this tea and the gentle warmth it brought to my soul especially during the quiet, golden color days of autumn. I remember my girlfriend turning me onto this tea and her laughing as I thought the name was “constant comet” like some etheral fireball streaking across the heavens.

Isn’t it wonderful to have lived the experience of gratitide? This is once again a challenge to me to stop for a moment and reflect on this very moment and enjoy. I gaze with at my favourite cup filled with the liquour of life, simple water and leaves. The simple teabag = gratitude.

Despite my BIG FANCY CLAIMS to the contrary, I have not been diligently logging my tea drinking. I am having a cup of Constant Comment now. I wonder where they get the orange seeds from. An orange juice company? Were they cheap at first? But then did the orange juice company suspect something was up and try to jack up the price? Who won?

Teaman

Hey Jack, have you tried some loose leaf teas? They are more flavorful and interesting. You can even get paper filters to use so you can toss it when done steeping, just like tea bags. It’s good to find some other male tea fans.

I received this as a sample in another purchase, as this is not the type of tea I normally drink. It was quite underwhelming and I nearly spit it out. It did not mix with my palette at all.
