From Bitterleaf Teas

Made from Lincang region ancient tea tree flowers, this cake is an excellent way to take a break from regular caffeinated teas. Unsurprisingly, this tea has an floral taste and natural honey-sweetness. Unlike the leaves, tea tree flowers contain very little caffeine, making this a suitable drink for the evenings or for those sensitive to caffeine.

I woke up with a killer migraine this morning and have yet to shake it, so I’m just drinking lots of refreshing, hydrating caffeine free teas right now in the hopes that it will help. Whether that will work or not remains to be seen. I thought this might be nice iced because it’s usually so mild, sweet and floral – but I’m just not into it at all. It is still floral, but in a way which I’ve not experienced with it before – it’s STRONG and kind of musty tasting? Couple that with a really intense straw/hot hay kind of note and it’s…

Not my cup of tea.

(Maybe I’m just in a bad mood because migraine though; I’ve not liked anything that I’ve drank today…)
