Thanks for the sample Azzrian! so glad I got to try it:)
This is a nice solid tea!! but… I couldn’t find any lemon in it? hrm. This is the second time I had a cup, just to be sure, and still, no flavour. Don’t get me wrong, I quite enjoy the earthiness and natural deepseated sweetness there, but that’s all I got. but then, I’ve found that with most lemon flavoured teas lately. My lemon receptors are missing. Ha!
Thanks again Azzrian!!

Azzrian

Actually this one she made special for me with no lemongrass so that may be why you are not detecting the lemon – if you like this I am sure you would like the regular version more :)

Autistic Goblin

I had the regular version and I got a good taste of lemon creaminess :D

Indigobloom

LOL oh that does make more sense!
Actually it reminds me very much of a very similar tea I was once in love with from Tea Emporium- Sunshine Mate. I’ll go back to it eventually!

Autistic Goblin

I would send you some of mine…but… I can’t part with it, I love it too much :D

Indigobloom

no worries, I have a replacement here if I need it! and I know the feeling, that’s how I am was with my strawberry white!

Bonnie

Good morning all you sunshines!

Indigobloom

Good morning indeed! welcome to the sunshine club :P

I received this in an outrageous swap with Dexter3657…thank you for this one!

This is my first go with guayusa, and had no idea what it was going to taste like. This also, is not a tea that I would have picked out for myself, but this has proven to me ‘if you don’t try, you don’t know….’ This has been a positive tasting experience.

I gathered from name of this tea that it would have some sort of citrus flavour to it, so I expected it to be kind of sour and tart. Was I ever wrong. Not sour at all. It is a sweet lemon crumble aroma/taste. I didn’t add any sugar, this tea didn’t need it. It had a natural sweet, smooth, lemon creaminess which required no additives.

I’ll have to keep this one in mind… after I fix my ageing car and house issues, and see what I’m left with :(

Terri HarpLady

Hmmm….I’ve been avoiding this one, pretty thinking it would be tart like you, but now I’m tempted to request a sample with my ‘next’ Butiki order.

Butiki Teas

Terri-This is one of my favorite morning drinks and my favorite guayusa flavor. I highly recommend requesting a sample. :)

scribbles

This is really good!! Not tart at all.

Dexter

Glad you are enjoying it scribbles… I didn’t care for it, so it’s nice to know that it found a good home. :))

scribbles

Thank you for sending me this!! I did enjoy this!

Nxtdoor

Yep. This was awesome with sugar and a slice of lemon as garnish. I pretended i was in places other than my backyard!

scribbles

Ooohhh, sounds lovely….will try your way, lounging in backyard, pretending somewhere far away from city….difficult though it may be with 401 running along my green belt.

Dexter

Maybe that’s what I did wrong with this tea… I didn’t pretend I was somewhere else……

New Cupboard Staple.

This instantly wakes you up, the aroma is so lemon-y fresh and fabulous (both the dry leaves and while its brewing)!

I’m feeling really out of it today and very disconnected with reality. I’ve been so sick lately (the migraines) and out of work that I just hate being me sometimes. This is helping to fight that feeling.

The lemon-y pow kicks it up a notch once it’s brewed. This really is a new cupboard staple. If you try only one guayusa from Butiki Teas, try this one! :)

Lala

Hope you feel better soon.

Serenity

Oh, I hate that disengaged feeling that comes with migraines, especially recurrent ones; I just don’t feel like me when I’m experiencing that. I don’t know if it helps but I try and think of the migraine as encompassing this second period of feelings once the pain is gone, so I’m still in recovery mode. It is frustrating because I just want it to be done and to move on once the pain is gone. But, if you injured your hand, you’d need to give it time to heal…samsies with a migrainey brain. It is injured; it needs time…and this tea sounds delicious!

KeenTeaThyme

I get migraines almost every day, and they’ve been really killer lately. I feel for anyone who gets them, they suck! I’ve got some tests coming up…I’m to the point where I’m hoping something horrid is wrong so I can get some relief. :( UGH.

Thanks for the well-wishes.

Serenity

KeenTeaThyme, keep me posted and best wishes for answers and treatment and pain relief!

So I’ve been in a Tea Funk. I pretty much had to force myself to make this but I did. And it was delicious as always. And my girlfriend got me a cute little Danish blue infuser mug with a saucer for my birthday so now I have a new go-to mug, and I’d say my tea funk is on the way to being over now.

Butiki Teas

Good to hear that you are getting out of your tea funk.

Sare

Yay!!!

momo

Once you make the first tea, it gets SO much easier. I was in one when my short lived job was irritating me..once you get that first one, you can start getting back into it!

A big thank you to Courtney for sending me a few teas to try! Gotta love sampling teas all the time. :D This is Butiki, so this is high standard. Of course it’s good. I love the guayusa base they have. It’s earthy, sweet, yet somehow creamy… or something… I’m not describing it well enough. But there is a ton of lemony flavor here. So it DOES seem sunshiney. I can just imagine sipping this in the morning with a nice breakfast in a sunny breakfast nook or something. I definitely try not to use a high temperature for guayusa: the lower the better. I’m not sure if it was because I was extra tired, but it didn’t seem like my energy was increased by this cup today. I always need a couple guayusa blends in my collection here and there and I’ll keep this one in mind in the future!

tea-sipper

And I completely forgot to let you know that I got your package, but I guess you know now. :D thanks so much

Courtney

Haha I hope you enjoy the others as well :)

It’s my first guayusa blend. I was sceptical about this base as I am really a tea lover, rooibos and herbal blends are generally not my cup of tea.

I read so many laudatory comments about Good Morning Sunshine that I choose this sample with my Butiki Order.

I am happy to have pick up this sample because I really like it.
Even if for me it is not a tea, it is very well blended and delicious.

To me the Lemon Grass is the leading flavour, very very far before lemon.
It is very herbal and it appears strange to me to have such a blend in the morning – this is typically the kind of flavours I’d prefer to have in the evening – not possible due to the high level of caffeine except if I want to dance rumba all night long !

This blend has an incredible efficacity to wake you up, as efficent as a coffee.

Probably not a future staple for me but I should recognize Stacy is the best person to make you like herbal & rooibos blends when you don’t really appreciate them.

After a long night of being woken up multiple times by Danny (3) who climbed into bed with us late last night, and muscle soreness from my exercise yesterday I woke up feeling pretty lethargic. But it’s Friday which means it’s time to clean the apartment, so I made myself some of this- the name just called out to me! Good Morning Sunshine!

Throughout the steeping process the tea smelled crisp, fresh, and lemony. Danny said it smelled “sunny” which I thought was a very accurate description! The flavor of this tea was just as lovely as the aroma. Delicate, lemony, refreshing! Plus it’s caffeinated so it had me perked up in no time!

The second steeping was light and even more delicate than the first- but just as flavorful.

The perfect pick me up for a sluggish morning :)

Good morning tea isn’t it!

Tawny Kira

Wonderful! I am definitely going to have to get some more when pay day comes!

Bonnie

You"ll love the owner Stacy! She is fantastic and let’s you pick samples to try!

Tawny Kira

Wow, that’s really awesome! She followed me recently and I was a little flabbergasted at first! I thought “why on earth would the OWNER of Butiki follow little ole me?” I’m really flattered!

Bonnie

Read my review on the mint tea cuz she comments! She is wonderful and will be your friend too! The owner of Verdant drops me notes also. Tea people are special!

Butiki Teas

I love chatting with other tea people. Reading reviews on here is very helpful to see if a blend is working or not. Feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions or are looking for some recommendations.

Tawny Kira

I’m really so glad that I joined this site because I was just kind of off on my own doing a lot of guesswork as to tea varieties to try, and now I see that there is this big community of tea lovers who are so nice and helpful! Tea people are most definitely special!

I received this a while back as sample and was waiting for a good (sleep deprived) time to drink it. That time is now.

The natural qualities of the guayusa really show through this, or at least they do on the first few sips. The flavouring is quite gentle, blending in seemlessly with the earthy and grassy qualities of the base. The lemongrass is distinctive, which I love, and leans into the flavour of sweet lemons. The citrus note builds on itself with each sip and starts to take on a somewhat creamy quality.

Now I just need to decide what guayusa blend(s) I want for this school year’s paper season. Maybe this. Maybe The Killer’s Vanilla (good song). Maybe both- one for the evening and one for the morning.

I’m waiting for the right time to make TKV too. I’m thinking of making some after my all night flight next month, to Providence, RI (and later to Brooklyn, NY).

Crowkettle

That’s sounds like the perfect situation for guayusa!

Plunkybug

Yeah, I leave Vic on the 5pm Clipper to Seattle for my 11:30pm flight, which arrives in Provicence at 10:30am the next morning. Seeing my bestie, so not gonna go to bed. But…I can’t really sleep well on planes. Should be interesting, to say the least.

Another sample to thank *Stacy*for. I have been tempted to drink this one at night but I managed to remember about it this morning. Last night I went to bingo with my aunty Ann which is a regular thing on a Monday night and we were chatting and having a couple of drinks whilst playing. We were far from the mark and had no chance of winning until we got to a special Christmas game, one by one my aunty marked off the numbers and she was saying she would never win it but she did. My wonderful aunty won £185 (around $300)! I had such a busy night that I need something to perk me up this morning.

Then comes this tea which smells of sweet lemongrass and is golden brown in colour. The lemongrass tastes creamy and sweet but also light (the last thing I want in the morning is something stodgy). The guayusa is not very noticeable and is suitable for those of us who are not too keen on the taste. A few sips is all it takes to notice the rocket fuelled energy that comes with guayusa and already I feel a little perked up. It reminds me a little of Gooey Butter Cake – 52 Teas as both are creamy and lemony.

I’m glad I got to try this tea but I don’t think I would buy it but only because I prefer the Cider Guayusa – Butiki Teas for the morning. The energy has kicked in now so I’m off to play Sims 3 :)
