Awesome about time some one came up with a true lemon tea. I love it and a better way to get started in the morning.

Autistic Goblin

Creamy lemon goodness with the bonus of high caffeine :D

Brings the power and tastes like Limoncello! After trying a few other guayusas this one is my favorite. Girlfriend loves it too.

Wow acidic. I steeped according to directions. This smells lemony and has some lemon after taste, but it’s really acidic, burn your tongue acidic. Not sure why I’m the only one who feels this way? It’s getting a little better as it cools, but this is defiantly not for me.

This is a very pleasant tea. Not a knock your socks off one, but a nice, smooth, goes down easy and smells good one.

I like the citrus smell of the dry leaf (tisane) and the smell continues once steeped. Any grassy taste the guayusa may have is masked by the lemon, but not in a harsh way. It doesn’t leave my throat dry like some lemon teas do.

I was hoping for a pick-me-up with the caffeine in the guayusa. It may have worked. I’m still awake, and I’ve felt like a zombie who just wants to go to sleep for the last few days (do zombies sleep?).

I’ve had two infusions of it so far, and would go for a third, but it’s 6pm, so I should probably switch to something with less caffeine now.

I like this tea. I like it a lot. Lemony. Tasty. Full of energy.

Love the name! Don’t think I could do lemon in the morning though

Cheri

It’s yummy and energizing. Butiki does have other guayusa teas that are a little sweeter if that’s what you need for morning.

Stephanie

I love it for an afternoon pick me up! It is also great iced :)

Such a good way to kickstart these early mornings, especially now that my tastebuds are back to normal! Seriously, what kind of med has a side effect like “rusty metallic taste”?! Yuck! Sooo glad to be done with it.

I got a generous sample of this one from Roswell Strange and I’d been dying to try it once the metallic taste went away. I really like guayusa, and I LOVE a good citrusy tea in the summer, and boy does this deliver!

I’ve had some issues with appetite loss lately, another med side effect, so I’ve been trying to sneak healthy stuff into myself in ways that don’t end in nausea. That’s how I discovered the epicness of chia seeds! I tried a chocolate chia pudding with protein powder, almond milk, and chia seeds, and boy was it tasty! That got me thinking of other things I could do with chia, since it’s so high in protein (4.4g per serving) and it quickly poofs up and gels when added to liquid. So I decided to try adding it to some iced tea as a pseudo bubble tea and OMGYUM!!!!! SO tasty! Perfect texture, and it fits through a normal straw!

So that’s what I had for breakfast. Good Morning Sunshine chia seed bubble tea. yum!

Roswell Strange

Ooh, sounds good!

Anlina

That’s an awesome idea.

Zopiclone as the worst taste side effect I’ve ever experienced. Bitter and metallic and impossible to rinse out or cover up. Kinda ruins everything you put in your mouth.

Bear With Me

Zopiclone was the culprit and it didn’t even help me sleep! It just made my mouth gross and my mood extra crappy. So uncool

Anlina

Aww that sucks. :( I find it really helpful for a good night sleep, but that side effect… occasionally worth it, but I really have to consider the balance of a good sleep vs everything tasting awful.

Backlog
So it was graduation weekend here in my neck of the woods, so I had to go home for the weekend in order to go to my cousins graduation, my sisters graduation, and my sisters graduation party. Let me just say if I never go to another graduation again, it’ll be too soon. Graduations are so boring, haha.
So I made up a huge pitcher of this iced to drink throughout my sisters party, and wow oh wow! It’s like the most interesting lemonaide in the world and a nice green tea had a beautiful beautiful baby. Not only is it lemony and green (I always use vegetal to describe that typical delightful green tea taste, but I feel like vegetal might not be the right name, idk), but its got this nice creaminess that really reminds me of a dessert. So good, I drank the whole thing way to fast. It’s so good iced, I’m bumping the score 5 points.

Welcome to Zombieland, population Memily.

Urrrrgh I am too old to go out drinking until 3am when I need to work at 9am. Just kidding, I am the perfect age to do that, but gosh I wish I hadn’t.

Good thing this tea is near perfect for what I need right now. The cup of coffee I had first made me want to vomit but this is zesty perfection.

This was one of the samples I requested with my latest Butiki order. I love all of the citrus flavor in this one—it’s a lemongrass kind of lemon; I’m definitely not getting pie filling or meringue—but I think guayusa is just a little bit too earthy for me to really get into. It tastes how I imagine a pile of autumn leaves would, if, you know, you crushed them up and steeped them. I don’t entirely dislike it, but it’s definitely a once-in-a-while kind of thing for me. Still, this is a very pleasant, drinkable cup, and the lemon flavor is refreshing and energizing at once.
