I was so excited to get to try this tea at my friend Amy’s house. She has an enormous collection of tea!
Unfortunately, I was extremely underwhelmed. The first taste was solid, but it has a very repelling aftertaste that I can only describe as spoiled milk.

I’m just putting this note here as a place holder to remind myself that I’ve had this tea. I love Tie Guan Yins and I remember that I loved this one too, but I had it too long ago to be able to write anything specific. Sorry guys!

Sweet and mellow. I have tried many Ti Guan Yins and this is probably my favorite.

It had a lot of caffeine, but not too much. It made me feel smart. I have tried this a few times, it is really nice. I got samples from them, so recommend everyone tries too.

This is a sipdown for me…

I have been so stressed out this week trying to negotiate my severance package, I’ve broken out into hives (!!!) twice and I think the two must be related unless I am developing a new food allergy. I feel like I need a vacation.

This oolong is a bit like a vacation in a cup, very soothing. I love the buttery and slightly vegetal flavor that reminds me a bit of sweet peas. And the aroma is so nice and flowery! I went for 3 steeps of this before I decided to finish it off. I do feel more relaxed somehow after drinking this.

I don’t have any unflavored green oolongs at the moment and I feel I should remedy that situation. More tea shopping may be in store for me :)

Oh man, hives are the worst. Hope you find some relief soon!

Cheri

I get stress hives. On the left side of my face and neck. It’s awful. But I’m glad that the tea helped.

Cheri, what do you do with yours? Benadryl cream seems to help me, anyway

This tea is wonderful. My first ever tie guan yin so that may bias this review a bit. ;) The dry smell is sweet and floral. Once steeped the leaves unfurl and become huge and beautiful – it was very entertaining to watch the process through a clear pot. The taste is rich, very sweet, floral and smooth. For me it brings to mind the smells of summer and lilacs in bloom. One of the best teas I’ve ever had, and definitely one I’ll re-order.
