Got a happy surprise today when I received my final Butiki order – I had, in fact, ordered an extra ounce of this tea hoping I’d like it – which I do indeed. Of course, the happiness was bittersweet, because it was my last ever Butiki order, aside from the teas that Sil and VariaTea have (that hopefully I will acquire soon).

Anyhow, I drank this for the first time a couple days ago, and definitely enjoyed it. It seems I quite like the plum flavour Stacy used, since I also quite enjoy the Plum Brandy Cheesecake (which I also picked up some extra of, previously). I’m not really sure it tastes like plum to me, but it’s a delicious fruitiness, with a creamy cakiness, and a bit of nuttiness. Really, the cashews in this blend aren’t much of a factor for me; I’d probably be just as happy without them. I will also note that this blend was quite tasty cold, as I didn’t finish it in the evening, and ended up drinking it the next morning. Tasty.

Snow day for me means sitting at home, cramming for the exams I now have tomorrow and trying new tea! (yay?)
I ordered this in my final good bye send off ohmygodineedtobuysometea order from Butiki. I have no idea if it’s just me but I am not at all getting the plum flavour that everyone else is getting. To me it just tastes like a nice black tea with some nutty undertones.
I tried even adding a bit of sugar because I thought the sugar might bring out the sweet fruityness that should come from the plum… no dice.
Perhaps I’ll try it again tonight, but for now – kind of disappointed :(
But hey – it still is a nice tea, just not what I wanted.

Backlog…going from memory…nice black base with a little plummy mineral notes, and a slight sweet nutty finish. I kind of rushed this one this morning, because I had a migraine, but it was super easy to drink. My resteep later after work was accidentally 10 minutes, as I got distracted reading a story my friend’s son wrote. Whoopsie.

Taken with some organic cane sugar, no milk, but I may be tempted to try it with milk to see if it ams up the cashew cake portion.

You know when not to try a new tea? When you are trying to work out your eligibility for insurance, that’s when. Do not try a new tea while you are trying to do this, as you will get frustrated and then forget all about it, but, if you are lucky it will still be warm when you remember it.
Sheesh.
Pleasant. I’m getting the nut, if not so much the plum or the cake. I’ll withhold judgement for now.

Fjellrev

Hope you’ll be able to sort out the insurance headache!

Mmm, I am so glad I ordered an extra ounce of this one in Stacy’s 50% off sale! The plum flavor is strong and sweet with a bit of cashew nuttiness adding depth and richness. I don’t really pick up on the cake flavor, but I don’t mind a bit because the combination is SO delicious! I’m sure going to miss Butiki…

Made a cup of this at work to enjoy this afternoon. It really is plummy and cakey. I swear I think i can even sense the cashew notes.
I really enjoyed my cup and I’m going to try adding a sprinkle of sugar to the next one just to see what happens :)

Sad that this is the end!
My last massive Butiki order came in last week, but the mailman left a delivery notification so we could pick it up at the post office. Well, we had Snowmageddon part two on Saturday, so we didn’t leave the house. My husband had to go out yesterday so he offered to pick this up for me. I wasn’t entirely sure what the slip was for, because I am waiting for a couple different things.

Anyway, he gets home and he says (sarcastically, as always) – “Good news, it was more tea”

Then he proceeded to open my tea cupboard, pull everything out and show his cousin how much tea i have. Then he gestured to my tea shelf, where all my tins are. And his cousin opened the other cupboard where my most frequently drank teas are and gestured at those.

And my husband says “And that’s not counting all the tea you probably have hiding somewhere”

I told him I actually am not even hiding any. But that I would have hidden this latest box if I’d been the one to pick it up. Truth.

Ah well. I told him the company is one of my all time faves and they’re closing so I had to stock up so shut up about it.

JEEZ!

Fjellrev

Damn straight you had to! And the name of this tea makes me drool.

Sil

hahaha yeah i’m not looking forward to the 3?4? things that are inbound to my house…they are not small orders…

mrmopar

LOL! Don’t let him see my "cupboard"on here. I got busted today as well….

Nattie

Tea shaming is the worst. I have three huge orders coming in too, imma try to hide them…
