From California Tea House

Do you love blueberries so much you just want to drink them? We do, that’s why we made Blueberry Syrup tea. It’s much lighter than it sounds, but has the refreshing feeling and healthy anti-oxidant boost that you would expect from a name like that. We use only hand picked, wild blueberries from here in California, Napa Valley Grapes, hibiscus blooms, beetroot bits, black currants and a touch of sweetness.

Got a sample of this in the mail a couple days ago and thought I’d try it after a (stressful) work meeting. This is blueberry awesomeness! My only issue is that it is herbal with no caffeine, so drinking it earlier in the day isn’t good for me. (I need caffeine with a capital C or else…)

The blueberry flavor is strong and fruity, sweet rather than tart. Some other blueberry teas have a tartness to them – which I like – but others may not. Perhaps that’s why this is called “blueberry syrup,” because it is sweet.

The color is awesome too – a deep reddish purple. Perhaps that comes from the real dried blueberries. To make sure they were safe for human consumption (hehe) I ate a blueberry from the tisane. So yummy! I knew the tea would rock from that taste alone. But hey, if you don’t like the tea, you’ve got a blueberry trail mix instead.

I gulped this down and reached for more. Love it! :)

So I decided to start the Blizzard of 2011 with this sample I purchased not to long ago. Unfortunately, this is not for me. The blueberry itself was good but there was a weird flavor I just couldn’t get past. It ruined the whole experience. I hope I have better luck with the next tea I sample.

I’ve been in a real blueberry place lately, so I was happy to find this in my mailbox this morning. This tastes like the same tea as Special Teas Blueberry Cocktail which I ran out of a long time ago. It’s pretty good. It has a strong blueberry flavor and some grape flavor too. But… I just had the Rishi Blueberry Rooibos a couple of days ago and I’m buying the Rishi over this tea.

Thanks JoeCool (Nichole) for sending this to me!

Went outside checked the mail, and (yah!) one of my many orders come in. . . Got a sample of this and wasn’t sure about it hot. . .but as it cools, it just gets better and better. The blueberries and grapes combine together nicely for a fantstic sweet ice tea (and I don’t add any kind of sweetners to my teas) .

I"ll have to remember this one for spring/summer.

This tastes like the name- blueberry syrup w/o any off flavors from other herbs….

Brewed about 24 oz. this morning, added a little bit of sugar, and carried it to work in one of those aluminum bottles. Great sweet treat this afternoon w/o lots of calories.

The blend is very high quality w/tons of dried blueberries…Another winner from California Tea House!

Ladyfriend gave a small sample of this to me as part of an AdvenTEA calender and I’m finally getting around to drinking it >.>

This tea is so weird to me. I mean, really really really weird. It’s not my first time having a blueberry herbal tea, which is surprising enough in itself from the girl who claimed to heavily disliked blueberries as recently as two or three years ago (I digress). The really surprising thing is that I’m having something called blueberry SYRUP.

I don’t do fruity syrups period. I love pancakes. I have accepted Pan as my personal lord and satyr and he gifted onto me the way of the pancake. I just don’t do fruity syrups. Sugary sticky sweetness + Diabetes = No. Which is why this tea is so strange to me. It honestly tastes like I’m drinking blueberry syrup. I’m expecting my blood glucose level to run high only it’s unsweetened. Huh.

So bottom line. It’s got definite fruity flavor and it’s sweet without being sweetened. Tasty enough and I probably wouldn’t turn down a cup, but I won’t seek it out for myself.

I love this Blueberry Syrup rush. It’s actually a lot milder than it sounds. A very smooth berry blend.
