Superbly made bold leaves from one of our favourite tea estates. These leaves produce an amazingly smooth medium-bodied tea liquor with mellow and soft flavour notes of musk, spice and stone fruit. An easy to enjoy tea that has a particularly appealing sweet flavour and pleasing mouth feel. An amazing tea for a more modest price.

Sipdown! (43 | 317)

This has been my first tea of the day for the past week or two, just working my way through the 30g package that I ordered in 2020. I still have a couple more teas from this order, and will hopefully be working through those soon as well.

It’s very smooth, and tastes like a second flush Darjeeling. Very bready, grainy, with a touch of caraway. Thickly textured but still somewhat light on the tongue. There are some hints of spices, maybe cardamom, along with that aromatic, floral, lightly fruity muscatel character.

It’s as pleasant tea, perhaps slightly more floral than would be ideal for me, but I enjoyed it as a soothing black tea for the morning. Darjeeling never tends to be my favorite but it’s fun to try every so often.
