Honey Vanilla Chamomile

My absolute favorite decaf bagged tea! Absolutely delicious! It’s sweet, but not too sweet…just right!

I snagged this tea after hearing such great things about it, and boy I’m glad I did! It’s SO good! In the box, it smells like vanilla with a subtle orange smell that lingers. When brewed, the smells intensify, but the TASTE…

It’s slightly sweet, and loads of soothing vanilla… And almost a coconut taste— in my opinion— which I LOVE.

No fear, if you don’t like coconut. It’s not blatant, but to me it tastes like a warmed, coconut, mixed with a creamy vanilla cream. The flavors enhance when I add just enough honey to sweeten it a bit more.

I simply boil water, and let it steep for at least six minutes. I’ve left the whole bag in my mug or tumbler before, too, and it does nothing but bring out the flavors more. I absolutely love this tea.

The name sure sounds tempting, but I find this tea to be rather “blah.” I think I can taste both the honey and vanilla, but somehow the two flavors combined end up tasting like neither. It’s not a bad tea and is quite inoffensive, but it’s nowhere near being a favorite. This one came in a Celestial Seasonings sampler pack and I won’t buy it on its own or probably even finish the tea bags I have.

Best chamomile tea I’ve ever had. This variant will convert non-chamomile lovers. Best bagged herbal tea I’ve ever had. This is a must have on my tea shelf ALWAYS!

My sister loves this tea, but I, for one, loathe chamomile, as this tea taught me. It’s too cottony for my taste, but I can understand why others like it.

Really surprised by this tea. It was so sweet that I didn’t have to add sweetner. It’s enjoyable on a slow Sunday afternoon.

It’s basically honey-water. I taste no vanilla, nor chamomile.

i’m not big on chamomile, but this one is so smooth and just the right amount of sweetness. i don’t think i’ll ever be able to drink plain chamomile again.

Steep Information:
Amount: 2 teabags
Water: 12 ounces filtered, boiling water
Steep Time: a little over 5 minutes
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: no scent really, paper maybe
Steeped Tea Smell: sweet honey, chamomile flowers, maybe a tinge of the licorice?
Flavor: light licorice, chamomile, very watery
Body: Light
Aftertaste: none
Liquor: deep dark brown

I blame the fact these are probably a good few years old and have only been in the waxed paper bag they originally came in. I purchased them a long time ago and shoved them into the cupboard and neglected them ever since.

Perhaps 1 bag would have been sufficient, but they were so old and not scented….alas not the comforting cup I was seeking.

Out of deference to the poor conditions and age of the bag I will refrain from rating this tea, I have memories of it being a good bed time tea.

I like this tea. It’s faintly sweeter than your average Chamomile.
