From Chabom Tea & Spices

Round, bold & bright with hints of blackcurrant & vegan cream.
This Chabom Breakfast houseblend is a perfectly balanced blend of sweet and floral China Congou Black tea blended with it’s rich full bodied, but not harsh, Sri Lankan Black tea & further enhanced with whispers of blackcurrant and vegan cream.
This blend was inspired by regional breakfast foods commonly enjoyed throughout the Nordic countries of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden; just to name a few. Locations where it is common to serve berry jams and milk with breakfast. With blackcurrants being cultivated in Northern Europe for more than 400 years, we thought it only appropriate to incorporate these specific flavors. Making your breakfast tea time into a morning walk down the streamside and seaside of Northern Europe.

It didn’t take long for the nice cashier at Chabom to convince me to grab one more sample packet because five cost less (per sample) than four, but since we were half rung up, I grabbed this one without giving it much thought.

I’m glad I did. This is a Chabom house blend; Ceylon base with blackcurrant and cream flavors. My first sip made me think instantly of H&S Tower of London, but more forest-y, if that makes any sense. This is what they’d serve at the Teddy Bear Picnic if the bears were real.

I did steep it a little stronger than needed—next time I can back off the leaf just a little bit, but a little milk tamed the grizzly. Delicious.

I haven’t heard of this company! Looking forward to more notes from you on these.

www.chabomteaspice.com. We were limited on time; I could’ve spent an hour browsing.

Sounds lovely! I love Royal Grey from Murchie’s, which is also currant and cream.

I’ve never Murchied before, but blackcurrant is one of my favorite fruit tea additives.
