Wow, so this is the first of many lovely samples I received from derk!

There was no water temperature listed on the teabag, but the time was listed as 8-10 minutes. Seeing as how it is an herbal tea, I did 212F.

This tea has a lovely flavor. I taste strong cocoa, caramel, and cinnamon as well as an underlying sweetness. I can definitely taste the mushrooms, and I love it! I may have to find some of this for myself, it’s mighty tasty. And caffeine free too!

Overall very tasty. Thanks a bunch derk!

Upset stomach is not a fun at all. Decided to clear my pipes, as derk said in comments of previous tasting note.

I liked the flavour today. It was bit peachy and bit more mushroomy today, but still pretty nice (I shortened the steeping to half though). Then some herbal notes.

Overall, pretty nice — hopefully stomach will calm down a bit as well.

Thanks for letting me try this derk!

Reishi mushrooms are good for your immune system. Never heard of using them for an upset stomach, but can’t say they’d hurt. Peppermint and/or chamomile can be helpful, too. Hope you are feeling better soon, Martin.

derk

Not that I’m laughing at the expense of you or your upset stomach Martin… but I chuckled at the language barrier. In your last note, I meant there is nothing in this tea that will stimulate your bowels. Regardless, I hope you’re feeling better.

Martin Bednář

Oh derk… I just read it wrong. Indeed language barrier. But the tea helped (at least as a placebo). It was just fun to try tea with mushrooms.

Pilfered from the shared kitchen stash. 2 bags to 16oz boiling water, steeped for a long time.

Sweet cocoa-carob-vanilla caramel-cinnamon aroma. Same in taste. Velvety smooth, sweet without having sweeteners, fresh herbs and spices. The cinnamon was warming but never biting. Great body for an herbal chai-type blend (lots of ingredients!) with a clean mouthfeel.

I had another Choice Organic Teas reishi mushroom (matcha green) teabag a few weeks ago that was disgusting and tasted like burnt dirt despite being fresh. This was not that. Very very good blend.

Yesterday’s lesson that bled into today: Clean your grill’s grease pan!

This sounds like it’s worth hunting down. Choice also has a pretty good bagged kukicha when you need convenience.

Ahh Always interested in a good tasting Detox tea. Sounds good. Thanks Derk!

The teabags smell just like that chocolate babka from Trader Joe’s.
