From DAVIDsTEA

Yes, it’s true. This blend really does use a superior, organic, Silver Needle white tea. It’s also true that we have been accused of “needless decadence” for having combined these premium buds with beautiful, organic, dried strawberries. But honestly, doesn’t everyone need a little decadence in their lives? The taste is so delicately perfect that it’s worth putting up with some flak.

I got this when from Janelle’s tea stash sampler sale shortly after I joined Steepster in November last year. I’m not sure why I haven’t tried it up to this point. I think I was afraid the berry would be too much for me. Initially I didn’t drink a lot of fruity teas, especially citrus, because I had had a previously bad flavor experience w/them. I have since learned that fruit and tea can go together, even some citrus, even though I am still a bit wary of raspberry and melon teas. I’ll probably eventually come around to those too.

I’m not really sure how old this tea is seeing as how it is no longer on the website and the most recent tasting note is from 10 months ago.

I haven’t had too many white teas as of yet. I tend to almost always drink black teas in the morning and sometimes in the afternoon (maybe a flavored green here), and usually some kind of rooibos (or 1 herbal) blend in the evening. Take the fact that I’m mostly drinking my old family recipe home made iced tea in the afternoons right now, and the white and green teas are not always finding much time w/me right now.

This one has a faint sweet strawberry smell when dry. Steeped, I get mostly white tea with a faint natural strawberry flavor that then fades into fake strawberry. Now that I’m done w/the cup, I find myself wondering what the aftertaste is from. I don’t know if the flavor has anything to do w/it’s age, so I will refrain from rating this one. I think it would be more enjoyable a cup if it was a little more strawberry and no aftertaste.

This tea is mostly just white, with a hint of strawberry. You can definitely taste the berry, but it’s subtle. I had this iced at the store and it is good, but it’s not anything special.

just got this tea in! and it was just what i was looking for! i steeped for the recommended time and it wasn’t too bitter. I was looking for something with a very light flavor though, if you’re looking for a strong strawberry flavor this tea is not for you but seems like a great beginner tea if you want to get into white tea! i still love it and don’t regret buying it.

I enjoy this tea quite a bit! The taste of strawberries is fantastic and I think this summer I need to try it iced as well. I have tried DAVIDsTEA’s new Blazing Strawberries for the summer and prefer Strawberry White quite a bit more. You can actually taste the strawberry in this one.

Haven’t tried this iced yet but it smells wonderful and makes a very nice mild hot tea. A keeper!

I made a pot of this tea, cozied up with a cup, and then read that it’s supposed to be enjoyed iced… woops! I like this tea hot though too, sweetened. It’s very light and fruity. Tastes girly. ;) Not to mention the pretty peachy pink color.
