From DAVIDsTEA

It’s all about the leaf

Looking for a taste of Canada? Try this red rooibos tea. It’s sweetened with (what else?) maple syrup and sprinkled with delicious maple leaf candies. Plus it’s 100% diplomatic (well, caffeine-free) and tastes great in both our official languages. With green rooibos, honeybush, caramel and toffee bits to shake things up. A truly authentic Canadian experience.

Ingredients: South African green and red rooibos, honeybush, caramel bits, toffee bits, candy leaves, artificial and natural flavouring*.

Allergens: Soy, dairy and tree nuts

K liked this a fair bit more than me! I liked it, but I’m always a BIT disappointed by maple flavours. Mostly this reminded us of the maple whiskey that K bought.. so we added a shot :P and that was pretty good, too! Lovely to have with an apple crisp! ;) Won’t buy more of this one, but it was nice to sample. :D

Oh Canada! This is my little cup of patriotism.

This Rooibos infusion is heavily spiked with Maple everything, again another infusion for those on the caffeine free kick, doesn’t hurt if you are craving something sweet too.

Dry this tea looks kind of like a bunch of little twigs or something, was my first Rooibos so I am assuming its just the type of plant. Weird looks aside it had a powerful maple smell that I fell in love with. Since I was a kid I was always a sucker for Maple, especially those Maple Cookies.

The final brew is golden brown, maybe even slightly reddish. It has a strong maple aroma to it, one could easily confuse it with maple syrup, heck if it was a bit thicker it would be great on waffles!

Deliciously maple-y. This one would be one of my top picks to curl up with on the couch while reading a good book. Smooth and familiar, like a batch of waffles on a snowy Sunday morning. Totally a tea for Fall.

There’s a time and a place for sweet, caffeine-free teas. Usually for me that time is mid-afternoon, but I decided since I wasn’t feeling great I would give a decaf tea a try in the morning. This was the one I picked out of the drawer, and made a cup.

The smell? Like I want to dump it on my pancakes. If I was eating pancakes…

The taste? Like I want to dump it on my pancakes. If I was eating pancakes…

This is a total weekend breakfast tea. I might follow it up with something caffeinated for the kick in the morning, or have something else first then this one, but HOLY YUM. I will definitely be buying it again. It’s just a shame it couldn’t have a caffeinated kick.

Hands down, this is my favourite rooibos dessert tea. So so much maple. Oh gawds, could I be any more of a Canadian? I freakin love maple, and this tea just completed that. Those little maple leaf candies….that’s kinda what I’m talking about when I say DT has some gimmicky teas. Still love it. Patriotism really only works for me when it’s goofy :P Also, I never thought to add steamed milk to a rooibos, but….it really works in this one. Some brown sugar really brings out the maple too. And on days I don’t work, I add a bit of maple whiskey. Heck yes. Great stuff. I was really sad to finish my little bag, but this will be a re-stock sometime in the future for sure ;D

Made this one last week. And I was not dissapointed at all. This was my first experience with a Rooibos and I loved it. The maple scent on opening the bag you can actually taste the maple syrul just from the smell (or at least it seemed that way to me). My only problem was that I had a lot of bits while drinking it. So one the second time having Oh Canada I decided to play with hubby’s coffee filters and make one fit my mug. Well it was a success. This tea is amazing and looks like Maple Syrup. I love that I can get the scent and some of the taste but not have to take the sugar hit from real Maply Syrup.

I’ve used this to make syrup for pancakes and waffles and it is delicious!

Delicate with a pairing of Rooibos and Maple. It’s a maple syrup tea. It smell like it and does taste like it, but the taste is really not too “sugary” in mouth like the maple syrup does.

This is really a re-comforting winter/spring tea and would be really a must for a “croustade aux pommes” hahaha! French words!

Okay, DavidsTea has me convinced. I do actually like rooibos – with the right flavours.

The smell is purely maple. It is so authentic smelling that I keep wanting to pour my tea on a stack of pancakes.

The flavour of the tea just plain delicious. You get the sweet maple syrup with the woody rooibos to counterbalance it. I feel like I should be walking through a forest during the harvest season as the sap of the maple trees are collected in buckets.

edit: increased the rating by 5 points because I can’t stop drinking this blend!

Looking for something a bit sweet today, so I thought I’d give this a go. The smell of the maple hits you right away, and it smells delish! I don’t taste the maple as strong as I thought I was going to, though. Next time I’ll probably use 2 teaspoons to bring out that flavour. That being said, I like that the maple is not an overpowering and artificial taste. A perfect tea for me to have now, as I was craving something sweet, and this fills a void I probably would have filled with cookies instead!

I loooooove this tea! Maple syrup is always a win! And I live in Canada so I felt obligated to buy this tea. It’s very sweet but you can definitely taste the maple…and I love rooibos so I figured I couldn’t go wrong :) very tasty tea!
