From DAVIDsTEA

The one
We’ve polled the entire country and this is, in fact, the perfect pekoe. The classic of all classics. The ultimate pick-me-up. The blend to turn to when you crave a good, honest cup of tea. Some say it evokes thoughts of warm comfort and familiar friends, others go off on tangents about doughnuts and red roses. Either way, everyone falls hard for this all-organic tea from top estates in Sri Lanka and Assam.

As of October 2023, this tea is Organic!

I’m excited to see an unflavored tea for today’s tea.. After the last two being too artificial, I’m ready for something a bit more.. plain.

Sipping… well, plain is definitely what I’m getting with this cup. I think I almost get a little bit of raisin at the beginning, but it quickly fades. The rest of the cup is very… basic and reminds me of a generic black tea bag. I almost get a bit of cardboard, though it’s not as bad as other teas with this quality. I think this tea would be yummy with the addition of milk or sugar. It reminds me of a tea that should be used as a base for other flavors since it’s so plain and nothing shines.

Day 3/24

Orange pekoe has never been one I’ve either hated or loved. If it’s there and it’s all that’s there I’ll drink it, otherwise I’m more likely to pick something else (provided it doesn’t have anything I tend to not like in it). That being said, this is orange pekoe. There’s nothing special about it. Kind of dry, kind of earthy. I can’t imagine steeping this for the recommended 4-7 minutes. I’m happy with the 2 minutes I gave this.

I am pretty “meh” on Orange Pekoe but this one was really good!!

This is a good execution of a standard orange pekoe tea. It’s clearly better than the typical tea bags you buy in the grocery store. This tea is fine if you want a basic well-balanced black tea and don’t need to tickle your pallet with a really complex flavour profile.

Really excellent blend. It’s good with milk, and it’s the right strength for me – great with a little milk but not too strong. It’s got a lovely round flavour to it.
Some of my friends insist on teabag tea. This is one of the few teas that is very close to something like Tetley, only much nicer and smoother. I’m sad it’s run out.

I bought this to make iced tea, I thought using loose leaf orange pekoe instead of bags would make it taste better but it wasn’t the case, it tasted kind of watery even though I used a lot

Oh yes, Shmiracles ordered this one for me and I’m SO GLAD right now because it’s SO STRONG and GOOD and TEA and I’m listening to that song “Sidewalk Talk” from the 80s on Spotify. SO GLAD SO STRONG GOOD TEA.

I received a free sample of this. Pretty good, but nothing really impressive. Would not buy again.

Really like this flavoured black tea. Leaves no funny after taste that lingers on your tongue. Steeps a beautiful deep amber tea and tastes great with milk and sugar or straight. I picked this up so I didn’t have to keep going to Tim Horton’s to get my steeped tea double double fix :) Definitely a tea I would buy on the regular.

A good pekoe. Very nice flavour. One must watch to not oversteep as it can get stodgy. Gave me a gut ache when I oversteeped it.

I thought it was good but didn’t blow my mind like crazy.
