From DAVIDsTEA

Better than candy

OK, so this tea doesn’t really have cinnamon hearts in it, but you’ll be forgiven for thinking it does. It’s a sweet blend of Sri Lankan cinnamon, spices, lemon, pu’erh and Chinese black tea. Unlike candy, however, this tea has no calories and no sugar rush. Just a nice jolt of caffeine from the pu’erh. So indulge away.

Ingredients: Chinese cooked pu’erh tea, Chinese black tea, lemon, cloves, cinnamon. With artificial and natural flavouring*.

Price per 50g: $7.50

Pretty good. Actually tastes like its namesake.

Since quitting coffee I’ve been looking for nice rich teas with strong flavors. I really think this tea fits the bill. The tea part is very high quality and distinctly a puerh. The cinnamon adds a bit of a pep, but doesn’t overpower the actual tea. This is exactly what a flavored tea should be.

I tried this tea in store so can’t give specifics on the amount of tea used or the temperature at which it was brewed. I allowed this tea to steep for the time it took me to walk from the store to home (about ten minutes), so it was stronger than most might enjoy. It was great for me though, as I really enjoy cinnamon. It has notes of vanilla in the smell, which I think brings out the cinnamon taste. If you simply enjoy a spicy cinnamon, without many additional spices (like the ones in chai), then you’ll like this tea.
