From DAVIDsTEA

Worth singing about
We’ll never forget the day Jessie Farrell came into our store looking for lavender tea. The red-headed country star was on a quest. She wanted something comforting, energizing and antioxidant-filled that she could drink all day long. Together, we came up with this pretty blend of lavender, rooibos, coconut and cornflowers. Try it. You’ll understand why she wrote a song about it.

Price per 50g: $7.50

Sipdown 29

Third day of no caffeine past three.

Ancient, but thankfully, the coconut was still intact. Only 3/4s of a spoon remained, so I made up the difference with Pluck’s Canadian Maple Rooibos, one that I use when relatively delicately flavoured/flavourless rooibos is required. The combination was a good one though. That said, not sad to see this one go.

And it’s a sipdown!

Lexie Aleah

Interesting my package was unopened and went rancid while it was still unopened.

Mastress Alita

I had an unopened sampler with coconut in it that went rancid recently, too. Never even got to try it!

Evol Ving Ness

Which teas were they? This one?

Evol Ving Ness

I had one go rancid recently too. Not this brand. But I think it was near rancid just a couple of weeks after I got it.

Mastress Alita

The one that spoiled for me was Coconut Cacao Pu’erh by Art of Tea. I had another sampler bought at the same time by the same company that also had coconut in it, White Coconut Creme, and oddly enough, that one didn’t spoil. Both were still sealed in their sampler packages. I wish I could figure out just how quickly coconut teas keep, since I’m a tea hoarder.

Evol Ving Ness

Probably safe to say that we—most of us on the site—are tea hoarders. You are in good company.

Lexie Aleah

Mine was this one but I was never a fan anyway.

So I finally tried this as a Chocolate milk latte like Variatea makes.

Prep: I very loosely used the measurements of the David’s Tea Eggnog latte recipe. Instead of doing chocolate milk I used 80 percent chocolate soy protein shake and 20 percent real chocolate milk to make it a bit healthier. I also skipped adding the regular milk like that recipe calls for.

It turned out delicious it was very rich and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. The tea added some floral and coconut notes. There was no sunscreen/ lotion flavor to be found. I think this is how I’m going to be using up this tea. I’ll probably try it as a chocolate milk cold brew as well at some point.

This is a pleasant tea that blends lavender, rooibos and coconut. The coconut adds a nice creamy flavour that helps to balance the rooibos. It’s a decent tea, but I wouldn’t rush out for it again. This often seems to be the case for me with rooibos teas though.

I love trying different kinds of rooibois but I always end up going back to this one. It’s warm, comforting, with the just right amount of sweetness. This is the loose leaf that also got my SO hooked on tea. He makes it a point to request for this every time he sees me starting a pot.

I have a huge tin of this at home but its been sold out at David’s tea online for awhile. Fingers crossed that is hasn’t been discontinued!!

I want to like this tea but I just don’t. It’s really pretty to look at. The coconut smell is very strong. The grains are small and when I brew it up there is a lot of “dust” in my tea. Tastes like tree bark to me, well, with coconut.

I dont really know how to describe this tea. I like it, but its not to die for. It smells weird and doesn’t taste the way it smells. Idk what it smells like…glue? wood? That must be the rooibos I’m smelling. smells weird. The taste is interesting. Its not a sweet or creamy coconut. More lavender for sure. Needs agave or honey. I like it when I need to unwind but its not a favorite. I will most likely keep a little on stock at my house though, because I like the lavender.

I have been looking for some good caffeine free teas for either ice or hot tea in the afternoon or evening. I have come to love the taste of lavender, especially in Stash Christmas in Paris so I decided to give this tea a try.
The Rooibos flavor comes out with strong with subtle hints of the coconut with the lavender almost a background flavor. The flavor taken together is nice. If you are looking for a strong lavender tea then you will not find it with Jessie’s tea.

A nice tasting, subtle tea with a strong bouquet of coconut. Easy to drink and soothing. I like to have it in the afternoon at work when I’ve had enough caffeine.

I am not the biggest fan of lavender in my tea. Or so I thought. Between this one and a Lavender, Vanilla, Peppermint rooibos blend, I think I may have to re-evaluate. I love the rich coconut in Jessie’s Tea, and since I love milk and sweetness in my tea, this worked perfectly.

The coconut is very strong in this tea, but I personally find it works well with the sweet honey bush base. This makes an amazing latte or iced tea, but it is also fantastic hot.

I brewed it for a lot time because I like the strong rich bronze colour that you get from rooibos blends that are steeped a while. It really adds nice undertones to the drink.

The loose tea smells like lavender and coconut. You can taste both of these after brewing but the smell to me was mostly sweet leaves and dusty coconut.
