I had a craving for this last week and realized I was out! So I bought a tin a few days ago and have been drinking it every night since.

I love the smell of the dry mix – I find myself opening the tin just to smell it. The flavours blend really well. The spices add a nice kick that keep it from fading into obscurity the way some lemon teas do.

This tea blows me away. I have only tried it once during the iced tea promotion but I really had to think after every sip. I thought about what was it I was drinking. It was so complex where I could taste the coconut, red pepper, cloves and more with no issues. It almost felt like I was drinking soup or could cook with it to make the most awesome thai curry chicken dish with.

I did have some trouble finishing the whole cup though. It was just so interestingly flavourful and complex that I couldn’t come to terms that I was having it as an iced drink.

I do want to go back to try some more (possibly for cooking) but will be cautious and start with a sample size.

As many people have claimed, this is a very complex tea.

When I would steep this tea at 4 mins, this tea reminds me of thai curry. A lot of the flavours were blended together and I could not tell one apart.

I steeped this tea for 7 mins because I really wanted to draw out the flavours as much as I could. Lemon is the first flavour that comes out the most, then I taste the cloves and cinnamon. I never got a sweet taste from the coconut, oranges, or pineapple, which is a shame. At 7 mins this tea comes out to be more of a lemony tasting tea.

This tea is definitely an acquired taste.I personally loved it even though the very strong smell put me off at first .drinking it had the most wonderful mellow warming effect and made my taste buds perk up without being overpowering.Unlike other non-caffeinated go to teas like Forever Nuts and Green and Fruity(which both seemed familiar and almost weaker versions of the amazing goji pop)..it was totally unique and I felt I had never drunk anything like it before. It still had wonderful and familiar notes of cloves and cardamon but the unexpected surprise note of red pepper is what really separates this tea as a drinking experience.

On the 19th day of tea-mas, DAVIDsTEA gave to me….

If Elf Help was too much like rockets, then Exotica reminded me of fruit loops. There was a citrus overtone with an interesting sweetness to it.

Not precisely my favourite tea, but not bad either.

mm fruit loops, good call!

Got a sample of this from David’s with my order a while ago and forgot about it. I was looking for something fresh and light and stumbled across it in the cabinet. Gave it a whiff. Thought, “This smells about right” and made a cup. So far I’ve only tried this one hot and I love it. It’s so refreshing and crisp tasting. Almost like a wake-up call for the taste buds, and yet really soothing. I’m a fiend for cinnamon and it was very welcome in this tea. The combination of lemongrass and pineapple is great. I think this would be great iced too but that’s for another time.
Had this iced today and wow, it is really nice, even nicer than it is hot! Definitely a new favorite.

Ok so I started back to class and that means I am back logged bad on my tea logs! I got my Davids order (1st one ever!!) and was really happy with my purchases for the most part. This tea is not my all time favorite, and I probably won’t repurchase it, but I’m thinking I am going to try it iced and I may have better luck with it cold. There is just something about it I don’t like hot- too much spice or something. I feel like the tea is good quality and very flavorful, it just doesn’t suit my tastes. Wish me better luck with it iced :)

I’m on the fence with this one. I want so much to like it, I want so much for it to be this amazing fruity tea and it’s just not. It was one of my work teas, but I got so sick of the oily feeling it was leaving in my mouth that I stopped drinking it.

I tried some again tonight. I have some cinnamon creamed honey on hand and thought that and this tea would be a good combination. Surprisingly, the honey is getting rid of the oily feeling this tea previously gave me. It’s not adding a lot of sweetness and the cinnamon doesn’t pop as much as I wanted, but this is good. Maybe this is how I’ll sipdown the remainder of this tea…

I just brewed up an only sample of this that we had kicking around and, for once, I have to admit it really was not for me. I found the spicy, herbal taste strange brewed as an iced tea and even when I tried it brewed hot I just didn’t love the flavour notes. That being said, the tea brewed quickly with a good strong flavour, just not for me.
