From DAVIDsTEA

Like all amazing recipes, this one took years to perfect – and it was totally worth the wait. This tea miraculously captures the flavour of freshly-baked banana bread. The taste of real banana slices blends perfectly with almonds and the sweetness of dates and currants. It’s fragrant, with all the warmth of a loaf hot from the oven. As deliciously comforting as mama’s special recipe, but without the calories.

Ingredients:
Dates, currants, almonds, banana, artificial flavouring.

Price: $8.98 per 50g

I don’t really like bananas, but I LOVE Banana bread, so I decided to give this a shot. AMAZING! My only complaint is that it’s so chunky (like trail mix!) the bag doesn’t go very far.

Delishious, a little thicker than ordinary tea. Great flavor but needs to be steeped quite long. Around 10 minutes

i’m just sipping on banana nut bread by davids tea , i was doubtful that they would be able to create an authentic banana tasting tea as its one of the hardest flavours to emulate unless you have the real thing inside! but wow was i pleasantly proven wrong , i was looking for a tasty fruity herbal tea and this flavour does that and more it also also imparts the warmth and cozyness you’re looking for on a cold canadian march night! I taste notes of caramel that ground the banana flavour which to me makes this tea a winner . It would be a mistake not to try it in my opinion!! drink up fellow steepsters …

This tea is bananas…b-a-n-a-n-a-s. Holy moly….listen, I dont usually like banana flavored ANYTHING. But I love anything nutty. So, because this is called banana NUT bread, I decided to give it a go. And boy am I glad I did! The dry blend is very much a trail-mix look alike. I feel like I could just eat it. Alas, I did not. I steeped a little over 1 perfect spoonful (a little over 2.5tsps) in 16 oz of water (DAVID’s Nordic Mug). I steeped it for 10 minutes at the recommendation of my fellow steepster reviewers. Once steeped, this tea smells exactly like freshly baked banana bread. I added a tiny little splash of DAVID’s vanilla agave and just the most minuscule splash of milk. Oh boy does it taste heavenly. Its sweet and nutty with a hint of banana. The banana is present, but not overpowering. The nut flavor really comes out. I am so glad I faced my banana-flavor fear and tried this. I bet it would be dang good as an iced latte!

Yum! Banana isn’t a flavour I lean toward but I was really pleasantly surprised with this one. Banana, buttery, sweet. Good with milk. It makes an awful mess in an infuser so go for something disposable if possible. It’s not a very cost effective tea since it’s so chunky/heavy. You need at least 2 PS for 20oz and it’s only good for one steep. It’s a nice treat though so I can see myself getting more.

Such a pretty light gold color. This is sweet on it’s own, but also good with added sweetener and a splash of milk.

Sipdown! I’m two days behind on the Hannukah sipdown countdown, but I haven’t given up.

This blend tastes exactly like banana nut bread. It does. But… it’s got that heavy sweetness that certain DT, Teavana, and T2 blends have, where it’s hot and sweet and flavorful but doesn’t taste anything like actual tea or any traditional tisanes. It’s a pleasant brew but my tastes have mostly shifted away from this.

This tea is one of my absolute favourites. I tasted it for the first time in the 2015 Advent Calendar and fell in love. I’ve since bought a tin of 100 g, and then a 250 g tin. The tea has a light flavour and needs to be steeped for a long time (I’ve found the longer the better, even 20+ min). It really does remind me of banana bread though and I think that is why I love it so much.

Ew. I was crazy about this when it was re-released last year – but I quickly grew to hate it. Maybe its the nuts, I don’t know, but I just had to dump the rest down the drain.
