From DAVIDsTEA

A magical scent

Made from premium green tea, our Silk Dragon is a limited-edition treasure. To create it, night-blooming jasmine is gathered in the morning and kept cool all day. In the evening, when the flowers burst open and release their scent, they are placed with the tea until midnight. This is repeated with fresh flowers over the course of five nights, infusing the tea with a most magical flavour.

I love jasmine tea, so I was excited to see this in the advent. It’s a pleasant green tea I savored over a couple of mugs, but the jasmine in it seemed very light to me somehow. Not sure if that’s my new tendency toward shorter steep times or something specific to this tea.

Sipdown 73

My sip downs are very sad compared to where I would like to be at. But, I haven’t been buying too much new tea, so at least the collection isn’t substantially growing (until I go to Paris next month).

I hope you have the best trip!

Good for a green jasmine tea. I went through 3 infusions (and then went to bed, it probably would have tolerated more.) The floral note was light and the green tea slightly sweet.

Backlogged sipdown. I prefer other jasmine greens, really.

Well, I made this as a hot brew without reading my previous note on it, which meant I didn’t see my reminder to myself that it was astringent and I should steep it at a lower temperature. As predicted, this was very bitter at my usual 80 degrees Celsius. It’s such a shame because it smells like it’s going to be a really sweet, delicate and delicious jasmine, but the bitterness of the poor quality base tea just overpowers it. Here’s hoping I actually remember to lower the steeping temperature for my third and final cup!

I personally find this blend extremely soft and soothing, great as an early evening cozy cup, but I have definitely turned to this blend on many an anxious morning.

Very Jasmine scented, and has a very silky mouthfeel. My boyfriend’s a huge fan of it, he was lamenting about how he was having a hard time finding a kind of green tea like the kind at his favourite Chinese restaurant and we’ve tried this and it was a perfect match

Currently my favorite morning green tea steep. I steep for 3 minutes and pour it over a little honey and a slice of lemon. A perfect way to start the day!

Day 4 of David’s Tea’s 24 Days of Tea 2017

Unfortunately, on the day that I had this (yes, my logs are a little bit behind) I was pulling an all-nighter and ended up not getting around to drinking the tea before it got cold. I even tried reheating it and still it got cold before I had the opportunity to drink it. Still, even cold and a day old, it tasted pretty good.

Advent Calendar 2017, Day 4: Very strong floral jasmine smell and flavor. I found it overpowering and cloying, but still somewhat appealing. Got a decent second steep out of it.
