The aroma of this tea is wonderful! The chocolate is pronounced and you can smell the spice. Unfortunately, the smell does not match the taste. I don’t know if I brewed this wrong, but it seems to be pretty weak. I even added more tea leaves and made sure the water was at a sufficient temperature. It got a bit darker, but not much. I was hoping this one would be full bodied. I’m glad this was a sample, otherwise I would have been sorely disappointed.

Woke up on the wrong side of the bed today so decided to try one of my favorite forms of tea:Chai.

The Smell was intoxicating it fills up every room with rich dark chocolate smell.
It’s a very yummy tea..but I do not consider it a Chai tea( although they should remove “chai” from the label)..it just doesn’t have that kick that I usually expect and lust for in my Chai.

It has a nice Chocolate taste without sweetness and a slight spicy after taste.
I consider this a balanced basic morning black tea with a twist.

I was expecting hardcore Chai and I got soft core black tea with a twist.

However I think it’s a great tea for mornings where you need a extra boost.

For me this is like dessert in a mug. It truly does make a great latte with some frothed milk. What i love the most is that it is not too chai-ish. I don’t love traditional chai because of the clove but this one is awesome.

this is a perfect winter treat. smells so good that my two co-workers that are die-hard coffee drinkers asked me to make them a cup of this.

chocolate but not too sweet with a fiery finish that warms you up inside and out.

this is what i imagine the hot chocolate from the movie chocolat tastes like, all i’m missing now is for Johnny Depp to show up and fix my door… a girl can dream can’t she?

Lovely smell – very chocolatety and spicy, which gives you great expectations. But after even a full steep the taste is thin. The chocolate and chili flavours aren’t balanced by anything. This tea probably needs a drop of milk or cream and some honey or sugar to balance out the sharpness and to give a fuller body.

Update: this is MUCH better with a bit of full fat milk and honey…

Shizam. I couldn’t possibly like this tea any more than I do. I’m a huge lover of all things spicy and it hits the hot spot perfectly. Very subtle, but definitely present. I added a little milk as someone suggested. This is a perfect winter tea for me.

This is so far, the best chocolate tea I have ever tasted. I loved it. The first chocolate flavored tea I tried was Read My Lips from Davids Tea, and it doesn’t even compare.

I was very disappointed by this tea on my first try. I was excited to see it on the DavidsTea website and couldn’t wait to get myself down to the nearest store in order to try it. I was very underwhelmed when I smelled the tea before steeping, I smelled a lot of chocolate and not much of anything else; however, I decided to give the tea a fair chance because the concept sounded so good. I tried the tea hot and it tasted just as bad as it smelled. It was reminiscent of the chocolate-scented markers I had as a child growing up and I could not dettect even the faintest amount of chili.
Overall I did not enjoy this tea, however I plan on trying it at least one more time before writing it off for good.

I have tried this tea twice now, with a year between those tasting experiences. My response is the same. It is a BEAUTIFUL tea. It smells intriguing. It tastes like, well, not like much. A hint of chocolate. A hint of spice. A lot of water. And not much interest on my part.

I get the heat of the chilis, and the creamyness of the chocolate. The black tea isn’t too astringent. Very nice, I hope they bring it back again!
