From DAVIDsTEA

How it tastes: Rich black tea with a touch of creamy-sweet vanilla and a citrusy hint of bergamot.

Lovers of Earl Grey tea adore this creamy alternative to the original breakfast blend. You’ll recognize the same high-quality black tea, the same citrus burst of bergamot oil, the same beautiful grey-blue petals. However this version adds a touch of vanilla, and the result is an unexpectedly rich, creamy taste experience. Try it on its own or as a satisfying tea latte.

What makes it great:
• A vanilla twist on the classic Earl Grey.
• Amazing infused into desserts. Try adding a shot to your next custard.
• Makes a killer London Fog. Just add hot frothed milk and a bit of agave

Ingredients
Organic black tea*, Natural (cream, vanilla) flavouring, Organic marigolds, Organic bergamot flavouring, Cornflower petals.

This tea was perfect – very creamy and smooth. I really needed the caffeine this afternoon. Trying to de-stash some makeup online – never knew how stressful that could be coordinating all of the sales :/

Anyhow – I’m going to try and enjoy the rest of this blend this week as my AM tea. Such a nice treat served hot with milk

I love this one. Creamy and dreamy and perfect for a cold & grey day working at home. I would repurchase.

Let’s start with the fact I L-O-V-E Earl Grey. I love Earl Grey tea, cookies, donuts, cupcakes…actually I even own an Earl Grey perfume.

My first experience with a ‘cream’ Earl was at a mom to mom sale where there was a Steeped Tea sales rep sampling Earl Grey de la Creme. I was astonished with how dreamy it was. At the time was note a tea connoisseur by any means. But I’ve always remember this experience.

This past Christmas I acquired Cream of Earl Grey from DavidsTea. It’s really nice, but I think Steeped’s was better. I’m always surprised by the licorice notes in this tea, which I dont really associate with Earl Grey. I had some friends over yesterday and one was really surprised at the flavour of this tea. She said it was definitely a different twist on the Earl, but good. (Emphasis on the word good, rather than amazing or great)

I really dislike the smell of this tea in the tin, but it smells and tastes so good once brewed. It’s become one of my favourites.

This tea smells heady and delicious. When I first tried it, I was very disappointed because to me it does not taste at all like an Earl Grey, but I persevered because I was given quite a lot and didn’t want to hurt the gift-giver’s feelings.

I’m glad I did. This is a good vanilla black tea. The bergamot taste is nonexistent for me, but it smells warm and heavy and makes a perfect wintery tea.

I’ve definitely been on a bit of a EG swing lately, and found a sample of this one floating around.

It was kind of like returning to an old friend.

Taken with 2TBSP of Silk Unsweetened soy milk and 1TSP Sugar Free White Chocolate Torani

Like most DAVIDsTEA blends, this one smells better and stronger than it tastes. It smells almost like a strong earl grey vanilla pudding or cake.

While it does hold up in the desserty and vanilla-y flavor department, and doesn’t let me down in the rich, creamy mouthfeel, What I’m finding myself missing here is a pop of bergamot. Zen Tea’s is still my go-to.

Nothing quite so extreme, thankfully!

The more I have this, the more I love it. I’ve decided I really don’t know what bergamot is “supposed” to taste like, the more I drink this and then switch back to ye good ol’ Twinings Earl Grey. I think it’s that this isn’t so citrusy, but more… floral? Smooth and cooling? I don’t know. All I know for sure is I love this tea in the morning.

This morning I wanted to try this sample from beelicious, while comparing it to the other Cream of Earl Grey I had on hand (from Tealated). This one has darker tea leaves visually, as well as a sharper bergamot aroma with less creaminess. I brewed up both teas, and this one is amazingly smooth. It really has a silky mouthfeel. The tea base is quite good and has a stonefruit sweetness, which I appreciate because some DAVIDs blends are too heavy on the flavoring for the tea base to really come through. This one is even organic.

So far, so good…but I don’t really taste the bergamot and cream, especially compared to the newer Tealated blend. Possibly this is an older sample or the flavors have faded in transit and storage. So, no rating or proper comparison yet, but I have a feeling I’ll like it if I order it in the future.

I think I still like Creme de la Earl Grey from Tealuxe better, but this is a pretty tasty blend.
